How long did you all have off work?
I've booked just under 3 weeks off after my BA to recover but ideally would like to go back after 10 days to save my hols.
If I don't feel up to it I'm happy to have the 3 weeks off though. How long did/are you planning to have off work before you go back? I'm in a office and desk based role xx

Re: How long did you all have off work?
I took two weeks and needed it.
Not because of pain but because your life just isn't back to normal and you don't have the energy. It's likely you wouldn't have showered properly either or had your dressings off, not great if you're at work!
2weeks is normally fine x

Re: How long did you all have off work?
I had my op last Tuesday... I went back today... so only 4 days off
I can make my job at a desk, I got a lift into work and home. My boss was really easy going about it all and told me if I wanted to go home at any point he would take me home.. I took it VERY easy and didn't get up unless I had to. I got home and my bra was too loose around the rib cage.. I lost my swelling, yay!! xx

I'm having one week off work and then The surgeon said he could write a generic note to tell my employers I have had surgery and I require light duties for 1 to 2 weeks :) x

I think you just have to see how you go really. Week one was a horrible blur for me. I wished the days away I was so tired but couldn't settle for long. After 3 days I had to go with my boyfriend and take a customers dogs for a walk. It was a good week before I could get in and out of the car without help putting seat belt on etc. I'm three weeks post op today and returned to work now un assisted and a dog knocked me over

Re: How long did you all have off work?
Ladies as usual thanks for all your help. Think I'll keep it booked as it is and if I feel ok I can always go back earlier. Better to have too much than not enough I guess.
My husband works close to my work but I do funny hours to fit around the school run and after reading Beckys post about driving I think the longer without doing it the better.
Gembo hope you're ok xx

Re: How long did you all have off work?
I had 7 weeks off due to my work being very heavy and demanding, but that's not always possible for most people. I'm lucky enough to be able to take holiday when ever I want, xxxx

A big part of my job is lifting 15 and 20kg of animal feed but I really don't know when I will be able to do that again or if I will even be allowed ? Thanks - I'm hoping I'll be ok too

Re: How long did you all have off work?
I had 4 weeks off! I have a busy, physical job though. 2 weeks holiday and 2 weeks sick. Felt so much better for it otherwise would have done myself damage if had gone back after 2 weeks like I'd planned.
If I had a office job I think I would have managed ok though. I didn't drive until 3 weeks though.

I had 2 weeks holiday but worked from home on day 8 and 9. The longer you can get away with not driving the better I think!

I had 3 weeks off & a few weeks after on light duties as job can be quite physical at times, I was well into my 2nd week before I started to feel human again. X
