How long did you take of work?
Hi Ladies,
I have my surgery booked! There are soooooo many of questions on my mind now....
How log did you take off work after the surgery? I have an office job - will 10 days off be enough?
Did you lay down for a couple of days or were still moving around the house but at a slower pace?
I have a baby boy who is 18 months and wondering whether I will be ale to cope with him on my own. If not - how many days of helps will I approximately need?
Will be grateful for your responses.

Re: How long did you take of work?
Hello and welcome to Breast Buddies momshell and congrats on booking your surgery!
A 10 day recovery should be fine if you have a desk job barring any complications post-op.
You'll be encouraged to be up and moving about as soon as you feel able, which is generally day 2-3. The worst thing you can do actually is stay is bed. You'll find you might be uncomfortable for a while due to the swelling, but nothing you won't be able to cope with and your body will NEED rest, so its important to take short walks when you can and rest when you need to.
You aren't going to be actually able lift your baby for 6 weeks as will be advised but most mums simply can't avoid lifting their babies for that long, but the soonest would probably be able to would generally be after around 2 weeks and that would be taking things very gently ensuring your holding your baby close to your body so you're not actually lifting whilst putting strain on your arms.
As you're new here hun you might find the information we have in the 'Breast Augmentation Information' section of the forum of interest to you. Its filled with so much to help you better understand the procedure and to help yourself feel better prepared. Any questions or concerns you might have just ask away in this section as you have - the 'General Breast Augmentation' section of the forum were no BA questions ever go unanswered and our lovely ladies will always be more than happy to help you if they can.
you might also like to post your surgery details in our Calendar Entries section of the forum (not the actual calendar) so we can all send on our good luck wishes your way on your special day!
And depending which month your surgery is you may also like to stop by one of the monthly stickies in the General Breast Augmenation section (march, april or may buddies thread) were you can have a chat with our ladies having surgery in the same month as yourself sharing emotions with those going through the same at the exact same time as yourself.
Enjoy the forum momshell and ask as many questions as you'd like hun. We're here to help

Re: How long did you take of work?
I have a desk job and I booked 2 weeks off, I would have been fine to go back after 10 days. I just felt a little tired after each day back, but soon got back into it. I was up and moving about after my op on the same day. Just basic things like walking around the house and going to town with my mum on day 3, although I felt a bit akward when my mum was packing the shopping and I was just stood there like an idiot. But it got me out of the house.
Re: How long did you take of work?
Hi all, I am also concerned about how much time I would need off work. I am a police officer so a very physical job and also have to wear heavy body armour every day! I'm guessing 2 weeks would not be enough.

Re: How long did you take of work?
I had two weeks off, I'm a hairdresser and I really couldn't take any more time off but I could have maybe done with an extra week as I was so busy so I'd say 10 days would be fine for you but see how you get on, you'll sleep we'll at night for the first few days lol xx
