how long were you off work for after BA?
Hi everyone,
Just wondering how long everyone was off work for after their BA. At my consultation mysurgeon said I would be back to work after a week but after speaking to my manager at work she had aanother girl off for two weeks after? I wss going to book about 8 days holiday to recover but now thimking it may not be enough. Do I go with surgeons advice or my managers?
Any advice wouls be good

What job do you do? If you have a physical job.. a week most likely isnt enough from what I've read.. And what placement are you having?? Bear in mind girls who have unders are normally in more discomfort... I think it's normally two weeks... I'll book off the two weeks (your manager is very understanding) and if you did feel better by a week you could always go back early xxx

Hey jen
I'm a dental nurse - I don't do too much lifting/carrying (except the clinical waste bags) so I don't seea problem. I told my surgeon anyway what I did as a job so he advised a week off work.

I took 2 weeks off just to make sure I was feeling up to it, it was very tiring even after 2 weeks. I probably could have gone back to my admin job after a week but I just wanted to make sure.

I do an office job and I had my BA on the Monday and went back to work the following Tuesday so just over a week off. Would have gone back on the Monday if it wasn't for the bank holiday!
I think if you are not doing anything too physical one week should be fine, plus your having overs so its not as uncomfortable as unders.
But everyone is different.

Hi I have taken two weeks off and by Friday of the first week I was thinking thank goodness I had booked the second week as I felt rough, but honestly by the Monday I felt well enough to be back at work so just shows you how much difference a day or two makes. I think if you can afford the time off then take the extra but otherwise I think a week is fine. I had overs too x
