Re: piercing
I have a tragus and a belly button but I had to tape it. As long as you tell them. It because in surgery any sparks along with oxygen etc in theartre is not a good mix. But you sign a disclaimer anyway. Rings I had to take off. Xx

Re: piercing
You can't get your fingers in to take the back off. It's really annoying. The only way I ever changed mine was with my hubby and a pair of small plyers xx

Re: piercing
It really will depend on both your surgeon and your aneasthetist whether or not you'll be able to keep it in.
For some, like in Anne's case they're happy for you to tape it up and may also ask you to sign a disclaimer.
For others however they simply won't increase any risks during surgery and you should know that the reason you're asked to remove piercings is because if something were to go wrong during your surgery and your surgeon needed to use a defibrillator, the electric current could pass though the metal and burn you.
So to avoid you struggling on the day if your surgeon/anaesthetist is adamant the piercing must come out it would be very wise to call the clinic and check for yourself your clinic policy 'toward this and if it's a no, you then have time to ask the piercer to remove it for you if you're unable to remove it yourself. Xx
