I wouldn't have said that brave; I am putting it off for another yearsarahlou222 wrote:
Zum I thinn your really brave, are you definitely going with the Prague surgeon then?
And Yes, I think I'm pretty stuck on it... I've checked with clinic with aftercare, and they've said they'd operate for free if complications came about (obviously I'd have to pay flights) and they have a UK nurses too.

Re: Telling parents..
My parents were told about the first op I had. Neither were happy about it, told me how ridiculous it was was to want to change the body you're born with when it's perfectly fine (to them it was) they then went out of their way to give me every horror story imaginable to try and prevent me from having my Breast Augmentation.
I had the surgery anyway (obvs lol) and they told me they didn't want to talk about it or acknowledge 'them' at all. And that's the way it went the rest of my revisions ive told only 'my little family', my husband, my son and my daughter.
I decided that my parents may have given me life, but they don't own me and I don't owe it to them to tell them. About things that are personal 'to me'. Xx

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] My sister is older! My mum had them done about 12 years ago, I remember being about 11 so I didn't really understand what was going on! My sister at the time was a stroppy teenager and apparently gave my mum hell over it! I'm so proud she stuck to her guns and got it done (she was about 40 at the time) because her confidence just changed. It was like she was a new woman! And now you'd never have a clue they arent real, they just look part of her if you know what I mean!
So you can imagine my sister when she finds out now her baby sister is getting them done, aged 25! She took it alot better than I thought, and the funny part was she actually said she was jealous! I think if she was in a position to pay for it herself too she would tbh. How attitudes change! Oh and my mum had 400's I think!
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Ahh how come you have decided to leave it for a year hun? That said it's a huge decision. I have played with the idea for years and after Xmas something just changed. And that's when I knew I was ready!
xx

Re: Telling parents..
Well, I just want to see how much more I can get my tummy in shape myself first. After all, if its still just skin then it'll still be there to go next year so no rush really and my my mums quiet worried about it as she went to have one, then just before her surgery some women who's married to a famous guy(or something to that affect) died from a complication so she became paranoid she'd do the same. The idea of drains freak me out too lol. I'd still have if it the skin really still isn't budging, but for now, I'll continue to try and tighten with weight lifting and diet.

Re: Telling parents..
I have to say, the most critical person about my BA was my best friend. She really was quite rude about the fact I wanted to sort my deflated boobies out =\ Saying I should just be happy blah blah blah. That pi**ed me off some what. x

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] It's horrible when your own friends cant try to understand how you feel and be supportive. I love my friends to bit but I'm not telling ANY of them because I just cba with anything they might say which is negative. Now I'm all booked I just want positivity and support! I'm not going huge so hoping no one will notice and just suspect I'm wearing one of my normal super padded bra's haha! xx

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] I agree, All my other friends have been really supportive and really nice about it, it's just my best friend that was very rude. I'm generally quiet an open person and tough cookie, but at the same time, I don't need people breathing down my throat for something I want for MYSELF lol it's not like I'm going to be trying to motorboat them or anything so it's really got nothing to do with them

Re: Telling parents..
Its so interesting to get a window into everyone'slives isn't it :)
I've not told my parents, by parents I mean dad and step mum.
I don't speak to my mum. If I still did and she knew about it, she would have to find a more expensive surgeon and go and get bigger ones than me. She just isn't a nice person.
Im 15 weeks post op and my parents, or my in laws haven't noticed. I think summer might be a different story though! My in laws would never mention even f they did notice....good wholesome Catholic family lol
One of my sisters knows but thats all, im the oldest of 6 :) me and her have a great relationship, she actually looked after the kids when I went in as my admission was 7am.
I kind of feel its on a need to know basis...x

It's lovely that there's lots who don't say and get away with it too!! I think my parents will notice in my bikini as live in cornwall and go to beach in summer with kids but I'm not sure they'd cime out and ask me! That said my Hubbie in law knows and has a big mouth so am sure the beans will be spilt!

Re: Telling parents..
I told my mum and she was always worried but so supportive. Her husband kept on saying that he was worried that I'd want to have op done again to go bigger. Don't think my mum slept much the weeks before my op, but afterwards she was fine and was so happy with my results!
My Dad I don't see regularly and didn't feel a need to tell him. I've seen him since the op and he didn't notice. Just something I don't feel comfortable telling my Dad!
If my parents were together my mum would have told him and then he probably would have gone on at me about money and risks. Mainly the money though!

Re: Telling parents..
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] I completely agree.
And also I think it is so nice to realise that no family is perfect.
I really did believe my mum and dad would be similar to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and say to me, 'we made you perfect the way you are.' I was quite shocked to hear otherwise.
Haha I also like the way people don't tell there parents anything and they get away with it.. or is it that they don't mention that they see something different?
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] I wondered if your 89 part of your name was the year you were born... I'm only a year younger.
I'm surprised your sister was so against your mum.. and jealous of you, obviously shows how much people grow up and mature. Has she got bigger boobs than you? x

Re: Telling parents..
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Ha yes! I've been rumbled! Yeah, I think at that time with her being a stroppy 16 year old she was always going to have a problem with it! I cant believe how much her attitude has changed! At the moment we have pretty similar boobs, both around 32b, 30c kinda size. I think it's always bothered me way more than her though! I'm not quite as tall as her so a little more curvy on the bum so always felt so out of proportion! x

Oh ok, haha you never know she may be next!
I wear the same bra size as you, it's interesting how your having over and I'm having unders.. just goes to show how different everyone's anatomy is. I got told in all 3 consultations, I would/would probably have under as I have no breast tissue at the top xx

Re: Telling parents..
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Yeah it's so strange how different everyone measures up! I guess I'm a little taller than you too which might make a difference. I'm having a placement that is kind of in between unders and over called sub-fascial. I don't know whether it's a placement favoured for furry Brazilian implants or just what my surgeon prefers! I couldn't believe how much time my surgeon spent measuring me in the consultation! Literally a good 20-25 mins!! She also did that dreaded boob pinch which made me think of you haha! Although thankfully it didnt hurt! xx

Lol aww how sweet of you!! Aww that did make me giggle, bless your heart. Sorry yes I do know what you mean, not quite over.
Yeah mine took a while. Did she also get a pen out and draw all over you? Felt like I should have been going to surgery! Xx
