Tips for side sleeping
Hi all, surgeon said I had to sleep on my back for 4 weeks which I have done. I'm now 5 weeks PO and would like to try and sleep on my side. My boobs are a little sore still and hard. Any tips on what can make it more comfy?? . I'm worried about squashing them and the internal stitches. Or the implant turning. I'm off to Egypt Monday for 10 nights and I could not bear to sleep on my back there as the beds are quite hard xxx

Re: Tips for side sleeping
If you have a v pillow this is excellent for the transition from back to side sleeping.
If not, arranging pillows in a V will be just as good.
Arrange the top have of the V horizontally so you can comfortably lay your head on it. The othe edge of the V should be coming toward you so you can 'cuddle it'. So your heads rested on the corner of the horizontal part and your cuddling into the other part. This also creates a gap for your lower Breast to settle into and if you pop a pair of soft rolled socks between your breasts the top Breast won't flop at all and will be supported by the socks.
It's really comfortable. But if your boobs aren't yet ready for side sleeping they'll be sure to let you know because they'll hurt, so do listen to your body and go back to your back for a week and then try again. At 4 weeks you should be fine though but then.... Boobs have ideas of their own, so do just go with what your body is comfortable with.
Happy sleeping! Xxx

Re: Tips for side sleeping
I still sleep with my v pillow hugging it, it's so comfy and cushions my boobs . I too used the rolled up socks for quite a while after to stop them 'flopping' and aching. X

Hi Anne! I use my v pillowstill now, 7 weeks tomorrow.
I also use a rolled up sock between my boobs to stop them pushing together. Just feels more secure that way!! :) x x

I'm still using the socks to stop the aching, but that's more for an issue I have. But early on it can really help the transition of sleeping before you're 'fully' healed.
