Hi Gembo. We'll be putting the Feb Buddies up probably in the new year, so hold tight! Great to see you're all booked in, why no head over to the calendar section and add your date so that we can wish you luck on your big day. Also, head over to the newbies section to introduce yourself to all of us.
Theres lots of stuff over in the BA Info section about what to take and what to expect. You can also do a search at the top to look at past posts to see what previous girls have recommended.
I was at Dolan park and the hospital and staff are lovely. Nothing to be worried about at all, they really look after you there. Is there anything in particular that you're scared about?

My main worry is waking up and not looking how I expect. Worried incase I am too small or too big . I have a choice of 375 cc or 400cc , but I am quite petite 5ft one , and I weigh 8 stone

I would personally go for 400cc. You will live them, we all have the same worry. You will be fine. Xxx

Re: Any February girls ??
Have you tried the different sizes on with rice boobs? It seems a little, but 25cc can go a long way, especially on a tiny girl like yourself. Give the different sizes a go and see which ones look and feel like the best fit for you. If in doubt, you can always go back for another sizing appointment with your surgeon.
I'll tell you this now - they won't look like you expect when you wake up! Mine were so square and stuck on when I woke up. But as they gradually drop and soften, they'll look more like what you're expecting.

Completely echo what Charlii says about shape! My side profile at the mo honestly looks like a wavy slide at a kids fun house haha!! And the front looks like I had two rectangular implants put in! I'm waiting for the drop and fluff fairy to come do some major renovations ;) xx

Re: Any February girls ??
Thanks for the replies , also forgot to mention I am having unders! I tried the implants under a tight vest - and initially I thought the 400 cc looked too big and wide under my ribs from the side. I have a nice little waist so don't want to come across as a larger girl when I am happy being petite and teeny, I meant I don't want to look all busty and top heavy x so confusing ! I'm going back for a discussion on sizing on 23 jan. Haven't done the rice test yet - but I have no idea what bra to put the rice in ? I haven't even got a sports bra - the patient care co ordinater said to get a front fastening sports bra ? In a back size bigger than I normally take ? Surgeon measured me as a 32 b , when I breastfed for two years I was a 32/34 d cup ! In pregnancy I measured a ECup at one stage but can't remember how I felt being that big. I really want to be happy with them when they settle etc as would hate to feel I look to big breasted and then have to go and be made smaller

Easiest thing to do then - make your rice boobs and go bra shopping! Take them in your handbag and try them on in different sizes! Measure your band first though, and do t add 4/5". What ever you measure is your true size. I measure 31", wear 32. The adding is an old fashioned thing and has so many women in the wrong size.
You can get a front or back fastener, it's up to you, but you will have swelling round your back and ribs in the first 3wks, most girls go up one or two band sizes. Just remember, if you go up a band, you go down a cup.

Ohh this is all confusing ! I normally wear a 32 but i guess for after surgery I'll need to wear a 34? So put the rice boobs in a 34d or 34c if I want to be 32dd or 32d?I live in Norwich where is best place to find these sort of bras ? I wish the surgeon could just computerise what I may look like and then I can make sure I'm not gonna look to big

Re: Any February girls ??
I would strongly advise measuring your band, just because what your 'normally' wear could be wrong. I was in 36 pre ba because of the wrong measuring system. After your op, you need to have all the support you can, and that all comes from the band, so ensure its the right size. Maybe got get yourself measured pre op, boux Avenue, debenhams and John lewis are good.
Careful with the 'dd', because what you think is a dd isn't necessarily so. You need to focus on shape, not size. With the rice boobs, you're trying them on as normal, so get your normal/correct band size. You don't have to buy the bra, just spend some time in the changing room checking yourself out! But for your post op, you will need a bigger band due to the swelling around your ribs and back.

I found sports bras good for testing out my rice boobs. Found they gave me as true a look as possible! I used to wear them around the house for hours!!

Thankyou ladies for all your advice - I will measure around my band- I am being very stupid but how do I do this is it around my rib cage or under my boobs ? I've got a flexible measure upstairs somewhere !

Measure around where your bra band would sit, so just under your breasts. Stand side on to a mirror to get the band as straight as possible.

I'm a February Buddy!Gembo wrote:Hey I'm new ! On valentines day I have my b a! At Dolan park . Is anyone else booked in for feb and this is my first op so what do I need to take and what to expect ? Really scared/ worried !!
The February Buddies thread is up NOW!!! it's a great help because you get to chat with women going through the same at the same time as yourself. You'll find them February Buddies thread as a sticky at the top of the General Breast Augmentation section of the forum.
For ideas of what to take with you look in the Breast Augmentation Information section of the forum > Your surgery day and beyond > What should I take to the hospital? shopping List!
You'll find all you need and more in that thread.
To read about what you can expect, take a look at: Breast Augmentation Information > Your surgery day and beyond > The unsaid things to prepare yourself for post-op.
I'd actually start preparing yourself now to wake up. Not expecting the perfect boobs you're paying for. Those in general don't come around until around the 4-6 months'ish mark when you'll start seeing your final shape. Boobs will have started softening by then but they will go on softening and becoming more natural like over the coming year after surgery.Gembo wrote:My main worry is waking up and not looking how I expect. You may read many times on forums for you to go for the biggest implant you've been offered, but it's a fact that biggest is not always best. What is best for 'you' is the implant that's going to best 'fit' your body with the least risk of complication - what's right for one, isn't right for all.
You may find reading these threads helpful: Breast Augmentation Information > How to get your perfect boobs > what size will I be?
In the same section check out the thread > should I ask my surgein for the 'cup size' that I want?
If you still have some confusion then it may be best to make an appointment for a second consultation with your surgeon. This is basically the norm and will help you feel a lot more confident about your surgery after being able to go through all your questions with your surgeon. You've paid a lot of money for their expertise Gem, so be sure to get your money's worth and take pictures of the 'look' rather than the 'size' in with you to see your surgeon. As stated in the thread I directed you to, surgeons work in volume (CCs) rather than cupsizes, so you get a far better understanding between yourself and your surgeon when you have a visual to talk over. Xx
