Re: February Buddies
Well, I'm a February buddy. My surgery date is the 27th of Feb and am having my surgery at Spire with Mr Douglas McGeorge.
To say I'm excited would be an understatement! I haven't been this excited since my first Breast Augmentation 8 years ago. I have high expectations for this surgery, so old Douggie boy better not let me down lol. Xx

Re: February Buddies
The thread soon fills with lots of Feb girls Gem
I totally get hating your boobs babe. I felt exactly the same when I first had mine done and the confidence I gained from having mine done was...well, life changing really.
If you fancy having a ticker to watch the days go down as each day passes and you get nearer and nearer to your big day Gem, just follow the instructions in the 'Forum FAQs and Support' section of the forum and if you look at the stickies at the top of that section you'll find the thread > Making a ticker.
It's pretty simple to follow and once it's on its fun to watch and it gets you really excited. Xx

Hey everyone, I'm a feb bud too....
I'm having my ba done 24th feb, with Mr hassan thmg as a daycase at Hammersmith, I am excited but im also really really worried about it, as I'm having local and deep sedation, and worried that I'll have problems breathing on my own being under deep sedation..... Crazy I know, but can't help feeling that way.... Anyways I'm having 375cc under the muscle...

You can move your arms babe. Don't worry, it doesn't incapasitate you in any way. You just won't be able to stretch or raise your arms above your head for a week or so.Gembo wrote:Van anyone advise , I have periods six weeks apart , this time my boobs have been v sore and in some places hard , I bleeding rather heavy and I am due on the time of surgery I think ! Having a period is absolutely fine. Just be sure to take your own sanitary pads with you (they won't allow tampons in surgery) otherwise, like myself who didn't know I couldn't use a tampon they gave me a great big ruddy mattress to put between my legs lol.
The twilight sedation is becoming more and more common now for BAs.ACKUGA28 wrote:Hey everyone, I'm a feb bud too....

Re: February Buddies
So how are you all feeling ladies?
I'm running away with myself I'm that excited. Just ordered two bra for after the op, I was bought a couple of button front night shirts for Christmas so I'll save those for my Breast Augmentation, so I've nothing really left to buy, already have a back raiser and ice packs, so aside from bits to buy for the day like nibbles and mags there's nothing for me to do! I kinda wish there was really, but I have everything all set. Xx

Re: February Buddies
Hey cookie
Can I ask what bras did you order and did you get a bigger back size or are you sticking with your normal back size?
Also where did you get your back raiser and ice packs from?
I've got all this to get.....
I bet your excited not long now till your op day ☺️
I'm excited and wish my op date was nearer but Im also really petrified, not of having an op or pain but I'm petrified of having deep sedation...
How did you find your previous recovery from surgery? Xx

Re: February Buddies
I've ordered two bras ACKUGA in my own band size (32). But, I've quite a few bras, so I'll also be taking an M&S high profile front fastener in with me in a 34 band. I'm an F cup at the moment, but am reducing by 60 to a 100CCs, it depends what fits best on the day. The smaller the better for me, so I'm going to try going down one cup size and changing from rounds to anatomicals so it's hard to know what size I'll be. My surgeon says though I'll pretty much the same projection, so I've ordered two 32Es in the new bras. And the M&S front fastener is a 34DD, so I should fit one of those. (Rule of bra measurements is that if you go up a band size, you go down a cup size, the cups still have the same volume (CCs)
These are the bras I'm getting are these HERE hun. Im lucky I have a variety of bras, but for yourself, I'd buy one in your back size and another a size larger. I'd also buy a back fastening high impact bra in your own back size also with a pack of bra extenders. This way, you can send back the bra that doesn't fit and have a back fastener there as your back up, or you may just want to to stick with one front fastener and the back fasteners as well. M&S sell a pack of two high impact back fasteners for a very reasonable price of £29 that get very good reviews you may even prefer the back fasteners and just want to send back the front fasteners. from the women here. You can find those HERE It's all about what works best for you and give the most comfort for you.

Re: February Buddies
I have a bad back ACKUGA so I invested in a back raiser for this reason. It's not essential though when you have Breast Augmentation. All you need to help you raise your head and shoulders above chest level is a V-pillow which you can buy cheaply For a tenner in Argos HERE
Icepacks can be bought for £3.75 from Amazon HERE
I'm so excited to have this op done. I've waited for this surgeon for so long and super excited to see the boobs he gives me. My previous recoveries have all been different if I'm honest. None of it is pain if that's your concern, when you first realise the op is over the first sensations youll experience is an elephant sat on your chest lol. It feels like a great big weight on your chest and that's it! No pain...after a while the pain meds the surgeon gave wears off and swelling starts settling in and you'll experience discomfort more than pain. Have you ever had a child ACKUGA? If you have, the best way to explain it is the sensation you have when your boobs are engorged with milk and they're heavy, hard and uncomfortable. Day 3 or 4 is generally the worst when all the swelling comes in but it's nothing that can't be controlled by the pain killers your surgeon provides for you. There's really nothing to worry about though. Xx

Hi Ladies,
I am panicking to tell you the truth!! Not about the op, more my weight. I really want to drop a few more lbs before the op, but I am stress eating at the moment as I am worried about my weight! Yup, I'm worried about my weight, so I'm eating more. Bah!!
I have a wish list on amazon which I just need to get my **naughty word** in gear and buy it! Thank you for that link to the ice packs cookie, the ones I were looking at were £20!!
I haven't bought any bras yet, I don't know if my PS will give me any idea as to what I'l need?

Re: February Buddies
Don't worry about your weight hun. If you're sensible - eat sensibly, no snacking and get yourself out walking a couple of times a day as soon as you're able your weight takes care of itself. You really don't gain if you're sensible.
It's only if you plan on being a couch potato that you need worry. Honestly...the weeks fly over and you'll soon be back at the gym.
£20!!!!! Wow! I'm glad I was able to help with the ice packs then. Those ones are great because they're filled with a kind of gel so you can mould them around the top of your boobs. They really me such a lot through all of my recoveries. I seriously swear by these and they helped get me through lots of the recovery process.
Your surgeon WILL be able to help with your bra. Just give your clinic a call babe and ask for the soze your surgeon wants you to buy in a bra. They'll be able to give that information to you over the phone. Xxx

Going as a day case but pc said to do this and said don't worry coz if I'm unwell I get to stay overnight anyways so there's no point paying the extra £250! ha, I'm afraid there will be a countdown every week, and then every day Cookie. I am SUCH a geek, my friend got me an advent calender, and instead of using it in dec, I am having a chocolate per week as a countdown to my two surgeries!
