Implant too low in one boob and scars red! Empty Implant too low in one boob and scars red!

Post by Mammamia 4th November 2014, 9:23 pm

Hi ladies, I had a follow up appt withy surgeon tonight and now I'm getting paranoid!! I'm 4.5 months post op and he was really pleased with how they looked and really impressed by how soft they are which is good as no sign of CC.

But i did highlight that my left boob sits slightly lower than the right and this boob had a higher nipple before so this is more accentuated now, especially with the boob sitting slightly lower, so the nipple sits relatively high in the boob. It doesn't bother me enough to go under the knife again and he said it wasn't a problem just a natural difference, but he wants to see me in 3 months to check it's still the same, or dropped any lower. Now I'm paranoid he's thinking it could become an issue! So for anyone who has had an implant drop too low, how is this corrected? Is it simple surgery or more than that?

Also my scars are still quite red. They are flat and not bumpy but red so he wants to see these to check they start going pale. I just assumed they were normal!!

It did make me realise how grateful I am for having regular follow up with my surgeon though. I've seen him at 1, 3 & 7 weeks post op, 4.5 months and then again in 3 months so it's lovely reassurance! Never had to see a nurse or coordinator. Maybe something to consider for future ladies to perhaps ask how much contact you'll have with the surgeon post op as the reassurance is lovely.

Hi,
Implants do highlight any little ayssemetries. So if you had slight assymetry (which would probably be unnoticeable if you were smaller than a B cup) the chances are you'll be able to notice it much more after surgery.
At 4.5 months post op there's still time changes so they may even out a little more yet.
Some surgeons say that scars can take up to 18months to fully heal, so again still plenty time for improvement.
Try not to worry too much over something that has not yet  happened ( I know its easier said than done  Hug   ) Its good that you have as much contact with your surgeon & I'm sure if there's something he is not happy with there will be a plan put in place to sort things for you. XXX

Thanks mirren. Yes I've put it to the back of my mind now and will not worry until after my next appt! He did initially say that it was probsbly there natural position but then looked at my 'before' photos and concluded they were level before, albeit one slightly bigger with a higher nipple. We shall see! I was almost a pancake before so it's definitely highlighted now but still worth it for boobs!!

With Mirren on this one. But at least he has said to come back if you're still worried, which is good. Keep an eye on it, maybe take a pic straight on once a week so you have a photo diary of any movement?
