From when did u have nothing at all on your scars?
I had loads of bandages on for the first week, then saw the nurse and she took it off and she just put one steri-strip long ways on each scar and said to take it off after a week.
So this morning I took it off but I'm scared to have nothing on them! In case it catches and splits open or something terrible, it just seems so soon. I've put a new bit of micropore tape on each one for now.
When did your tapes/ bandages come off and stay off?
xx

I had my dressings completely off 8 days after my op and have had nothing on them since not even steri strips which freaked me out a bit as everyone on here said they had them. It felt a bit wierd at first them being exposed but they healed really quickly. x

Yeh I had steri-strips until around 4 weeks too... You'll know yourself when you're ready to go without. If it makes you feel more at ease just now then keep using the strips - it won't do any harm.

I had my bandages on for 7days then just the little strips covering the scars for another 7days. I kept them covered a little longer than that though cos like you I didnt feel happy with the scars being exposed. I wont hurt to cover them longer. xx

I think it was about 3/4weeks hun. But even when i had all my dressings off i felt uncomfortable without stick on sanitary towels stuck to my sports bra(sorta folded over) as i felt it rubbed on my scars otherwise. I was always petrified theyd fall out or something but they never did thank goodness!!xx

hey there,
my little plasters came off a 8 days after my BA. i also had my dissolvable stitches trimmed at either end on that day too. i didn't have steri strips on at all. but obviously each surgeon is different.

My plasters came off after 13 days, I had new ones put on for one day after having stitches removed and was instructed to remove them. I never had steri strips and put nothing on my scars. I was fine, scars didnt rub on my bra or anything
