Antibiotics ?
I cant remember the first time round after having my implants if i was discharged with antibiotics or not? Im sure i was but could be wrong. I'm getting worked up thinking im going to get an infection or something is going to go wrong Do they always prescribe antibiotics on discharge? Im also worked up about the fact that my surgeon doesn't use drains, for my initial B/A drains were used, my new surgeon doesnt use them & im thinking where is all that nasty fluid going to go then? What if the swelling makes my boobs huge & gets infected. Arghhh my mind over thinks everything

Re: Antibiotics ?
Most people get discharged with antibiotics yes. The risk of infection and something going wrong is always there unfortunately. My first surgeon used drains, but my second surgeon didn't and everything was fine x

Re: Antibiotics ?
I sound like a loon wanting drains dont I lol I really over think things & get myself worked up about it all. I'v been through a crazy month from having my wisdom teeth extracted, pain starting in my boob, getting infection in my socket from my teeth being removed, being treated for a blood clot on my lung, then my implant ruptured. My heads been all over the place! I'm hoping & praying nothing goes wrong when I have my revision on the 5th Oct, knowing my luck ill develop CC or get a huge infection & they need removing All this that has happened has really made my paranoid & really scared of having this procedure done as it wasnt planned. Did you take any special lotions and potions to help with swelling ect x

Re: Antibiotics ?
I didn't have drains & wasn't given antibiotics on discharge, I was however given a large dose antibiotic in with a few other drugs during GA.
I was fine no problems with healing etc, though do discuss your concerns with surgeon who will go through reasons etc for doing things certain ways, I'm sure they will reassure you . XXX

Re: Antibiotics ?
I hope they do prescribe antibiotics bcos i got an infection in my gums when my wisdom teeth were removed a couple of weeks ago, so the chances of me getting an infected boob would be quite high. Maybe im just getting worked up over nothing but dont think much else could go wrong, my luck lately has been the worst ever! Fingers crossed all will be okay x

Re: Antibiotics ?
It'll be down to the surgeon, the clinic and you. Some girls are given a large dose in their drip, some are sent away with them. Same for drains, some do some don't. But drains aren't directly related to the swelling. Some girls who don't have drains come away with minimal swelling. The swelling is caused by the trauma, its your body's natural way of cushioning and protecting the area.
If you do have excessive painful swelling the icepacks across the top of the breast only are great. With the arnica...well, there's no proof for or against, so have at it and hope for the best! Though I took it and still swelled and bruised. But the good news is the swelling will go down in 2-3wks. As long as you stay with your shoulders above your heart when you sleep/lay down, this will help to drain it.
I would certainly mention about your wisdom teeth, as this may help them to make the best decision for you. Also, discuss taking vits before doing so, as a lot of clinics say a big no to them in the weeks before and after, so double check to make sure you're not invalidating your aftercare. Best thing you can do is stick to a healthy protein rich diet, and get some gentle exercise when you can, even if its just a walk around the garden or something.
