Contraceptive pill and ba
I spoke to my surgeon yesterday asking if I need to stop taking my contraceptive pill before my surgery and he didnt really give a straight yes or no answer. He said about the risk of DVT but it will be small and that he wont want me laying around after surgery for days or weeks on end. I have worked out my cycle and it would seem I stop my pill 8 days before due to expecting my period the week of my surgery (hopefully to be finished or very light by day of ba) I dont really want to have to stop my pill as dont want to mess up my cycle, I kind of wish he has gave me a straight yes or no answer lol.

Re: Contraceptive pill and ba
I went to 3 consultations and only one surgeon bought it up. He said to stop taking 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after the op. The surgeon I chose hasn't mentioned it, he didn't even ask so I'm not sure if he's seen it in my notes! That's another question to ask when I see him next :) xx

I'm on the depo so I'm buggered if I need to stop taking it cause it's in my system for 3 months.
I wouldn't worry, I can't see it making a difference, if your surgeon hasn't said stop, don't stop.

It's fine. If it were a longer surgery involving more major arteries like a breast reduction or tummy tuck, then you'd have to come off. But you're only under for an hour or so, and you've got the sexy stocking and are encouraged to move about. So no, don't stop taking your pill unless they explicitly tell you to.

I agree with Charli. And just think of the increased risk of pregnancy....no pill and BOOBS! That's a recipe for an accident ha haaaa!

It's advisable to stop to reduce the risk of DVT. I know it's annoying but better to be safe. I stopped mine x

You'll be fine. You're encouraged to get yourself up and moving around from day one Sam. The worst you can do is lay around in bed all day.
Just be sure to get yourself up a couple of times throughout the day, to go the loo, to make a cuppa, to just have a walk around the house/garden, then when you feel up to it a little walk outside which will do you good.
You're having a BA Sam which doesn't leave you incapacitated. You're able and encouraged to get up about and if you're up and moving - you're at no risk of DVT. X

I wouldn't dare come off contraception - I'd have fantastic boobies but a baby bump!

Re: Contraceptive pill and ba
if you do come off the pill you could just not have sex for the mean time, then you know that theres no way that you can get pregnant lol
if surgeon says come off come off if not then dont, just stick to what the surgeon says as its all own to your aftercare at the end of the day xx
