Tips or info for a newbie please??
Hi ladies! New to this site, just doing my research on getting a breast augmentation and saw people got so much help from everyone on here. Planning this for 6months - a year when I've got the money together but I wanna be 100% on everything! I'm a small 32B at the minute... Probably more of an A and want to go to about 32D and look as natural as possible! Does anyone have any info on what kind of size implant id need so I can play around with the rice test? Also, if anyone has any recommended surgeons in the midlands?
Any tips or info would be appreciated as I've only just started looking into everything so I don't know really know which direction to head in!
Thanks

Re: Tips or info for a newbie please??
Hi Robyn, welcome to the forum.
Firstly, I'd hit our BA Info forums, spend a good amount of time having a read through there. There's all sorts of information about BA's, and a lot of it you wont hear from your surgeon! Secondly - get to a consultation! Doesn't have to be the final answer, but it'll give you a great starting place for your research. I went for one with THG back in 2012 because it was killing me having done the research (so I'd thought) but not knowing what might be right for me. It was free, I let them choose the surgeon, and just went in and asked away. I came out knowing a lot more about what would be best for me. It wasn't until over a year later that I went back and booked it (mine happened to be with the same guy coz we clicked, but its best to have at least 3 real consults to get a good average).
Sizing is really going to be personal to you. You could have two identical women, but the same CC implant will get different results. You have to think about BWD, CC, placement, profile, shape, so much!
Re surgeons, a good place to start is to think what you want out of one. Do you specifically want him to be a breast specialist, or will general plastic surgeon do? BAAPS registered or no? What qualifications do you insist he has? If you go on the GMC website, I think you can search by region, and it'll show surgeons in your area, and what their qualifications and specialties are. Then you can take it from there.
I hope this helps and isn't too much at once! Any questions, just post away :)

Hi Charlii! Thank you so much for all the info. Gosh, there is a lot more to think about that I assumed! Glad I started looking early haha. Think I'm definitely going to have a consultation soon, the more i have the more I will know and hopefully will be comfortable with my final decision! Could explain what BAAPS is please? - sorry if it's a silly question
Thank again!! Xx

Re: Tips or info for a newbie please??
BAAPS is the British association of aesthetic plastic surgery. I've always thought it's an apt acronym! They're basically best of the best, selected by their peers. Google it for more in depth info. Certain clinics use them only, or you can go privately. They tend to cost a little more, but some people deem it worth it. You'll be able to see if a surgeon is BAAPS on the gmc register.

Hiya,
As Charli has said the Breast Augmentation Information is a good place to start there's so much info in there which will give you a better understanding of Breast Augmentation Surgery.
When going for consultations there a printable question list to take with you as a starting point & it's helpful for the surgeon if you take pictures of the look you are after, working with the pictures and your specific measurements the surgeon can advise on size, shape/ profile of implant you would need to get the result you are after for you.
Enjoy the forum & any questions feel free to ask away there's always someone around more than happy to help & advise you where they can.

Hey Robyn, I had a really good consultation with Mrs Kat at Spire Parkway in Birmingham. I ended up going with someone else instead, but was really impressed with her - she also lets you try on sizes. A few ladies on here have had her x

Wow! Thanks a lot ladies I really appreciate all your help :) been looking at surgeons around the midlands and I was looking into Mrs Kat, Mr sultan Hassan and Mrs O'brien. Mrs O'brien is local to me so might go there for my first consultation when I can get the time off work. Don't know if any of you were the same but my phone is now full of pictures of boobs hahah. Hiya,
There a few people on here had Mrs Kat & Mr Hassan do their BA's so they seem a good choice to start consultations with.
You do get boob obsessed when planning a BA to the point of being almost pervy ...lol XXX
