dental work and ba Empty dental work and ba

I have had three fillings in the past few months and I had to go on antibiotics after I developed a bad tooth ache after one of them.  I have just read that when u have had a ba u should go on antibiotics a day before to avoid the dental bacteria going into your blood and infecting the capsule forming cc. I'm worried now as I didn't know and so didn't do this!

did you have antiobiotics after the BA

we ALL develop a capsule around the implant every singlle one of us, its our bodies natural defence against something that is put in our body thats not supposed to be, it just depends on how hard and tight that capsule becomes as to how bad CC get xx

You have antibs given through your iv in surgery and a few of us get given a course to go home with as a preventive measure too.

How long before your ba did you have toothache? Was it toothache or infection? If an infection you should have told your surgeon prior to surgery that you had a tooth infection at the time of surgery.

I had antibiotics after my ba as normal,  but I red an article sayin as routine after implants u should tell your dentist you have implants and ask for antibiotics every time u have your teeth polished or drilled.  I had three fillings since my ba in December, and wasn't told I needed antibiotics?

This is one of a number of websites saying in the us they did a study and from that recommend oral antibiotics prior to any dental procedure for 6 months to a year after surgery.  I was never told this after my ba,  surely if this is the advice I should have been told this by my nurse?  I had a deep filling in Feb and antibiotics after for a bladder infection the day after,  then I got a toothache and went on more antibiotics and even more antibiotics from my dentist to fix it.  But my worry it have I increased my chances of capsular contracture by not pre dosing up on antibiotics prior to fillings?

Don't worry I just saw this question has been answered before by cookie it's not necessary so that's good enough for me,,  I'm sure if it was then it would be written into our aftercare policy as one of the things we have to ensure we do as not to void our aftercare lol

I've had numerous bladder infections after my reop and didn't get antibiotics as they lower my immune system too much also had alot of dental.work

I think dentists in the USA used to give antibiotics 'just in case' before dental treatments for those with implants, but there's never been any proven reason to do so, and over here we are more aware of the problems caused by over-using antibiotics so it isn't recommended or needed these days.

yeah over using antiobiotcs can be pretty bad as it will end up being that your body will stop gifhting off things and then when you really need antiobiotics they wont work xx
