Wear after op?
Girls,
What did you all wear to and from your operation?? I bought a new onsie specially for the occasion but I've opened it (occasion? who the hell am I, haha). So need something else but, but not a onsie. Any ideas? Xx

Re: Wear after op?
To - just normal clothes. From - I ended up staying in my nightshirt, pulling on a pair of leggings and some trainers that I didn't need to bend to put on. You want something front fastening or that you can step into, nothing you have to raise your arms for. Comfy, loose fitting. Easy slip on shoes.

Re: Wear after op?
I am thinking of wearing leggings and my uggs (easy to put on) and not sure on top yet. The only front opening top I can find are shirts and I am not a big fan of shirts. Maybe a big baggy top that i can get my OH to put over my head so i just have to slip my arms into?
lol a the new onesie for the occaison, I did the same with some new pj's, but after reading other girls stories, I might just stay in the gown that they provide rather than faffing around. I have my onesie that I thought of taking but its very pink, fluffy and animal print so not sure I want to walk out of the hospital in that with people staring! x

Re: Wear after op?
I think a onesie is a bad idea. You can't go to te toilet without getting stripped off and it's more hassle I think.
I wore my normal clothes to it.
And came out still in my pjs. Just pj bottoms and my Macom ontop with a zip up hoody. I wasn't able for wearing any clothes and felt all happy and cosy in my pjs. Just comfort clothes haha. Took me 4 days till I was putting on normal clothes. Just sat in my Macom and my fluffy comfy jumpers for bed that are zip ups. Xxx it's a time to be lazy and rest :)

Re: Wear after op?
COMFY SLACK clothing is best. Easy up bottoms like joggers or stretch trousers...some have worn jeans and struggled ...I wore them at home a few days after, hub had to fasten button for me.
Hoodie (zip up as over head arm movement can be restricted)... vest top for easy access to your new friends.... I wore UGGs they were a PAIN to pull on, so go for slip on shoes of some sort or trainers/ballet pumps.

Re: Wear after op?
Thanks Krizz, I will swap my uggs for some pumps. I don't own any joggers, so will go and get some tomorrow. have plenty of vest tops and have a zip up hoody. So sort of ready to rock and roll after I go shopping for some joggers. x

Thanks Di, I can't believe I am more indecisive about what to wear to and from the hospital than I was about everything else!

Re: Wear after op?
I'm honking leggings, uggs and a long check shirt. If I'm unwell or feeling rough looking half decent puts me in a better mood. I'll sulk if I'm in my pjs 24/7 lol xxx

Re: Wear after op?
I was the same Lucia! I re-packed hospital bag about 4 times but kinda forgot the reason i was going into hospital. I obsessed over my BA hospital bag the same as when i had my 2 children. Its all part of the experience so indulge yourself and enjoy ur day when it comes...soon! XxDi

Re: Wear after op?
Tracky bottoms or something easy to pull on for the bottoms, and vest tops for the top! With a zip front jumper or button front shirt/cardie.
I lived in vest tops, stepped into them and pulled them up as far as my chest, then slipped arms into the straps. Couldn't be doing with taking anything over my head for about two weeks at least!
You will also find that trying to get tight trousers/jeans on is quite painful in terms of moving your arms down and together to do up the buttons/pull them on!
All these little things that no one tells you hey! lol xx

Re: Wear after op?
Aghhhhhh!!! What a decision! Di, I think I am losing sight of what's happening and stressing out over what to blooming wear!
I think I will settle with joggers, vest top, sip up hoody and my ugg boots as they are quite easy to get on and I will have my OH there to help me if not.

Re: Wear after op?
My Hubby helped with the whole Ugg pulling on and off hun, you'll be fine.
Kt is right about the vest tops. I still live in them under stuff... easy to pop down for a peek etc and comfy too.

Re: Wear after op?
I made the mistake of skinny jeans ... Had a baggy top but given the few hours I was in the clinic ( not overnight) the water retention posed interesting while the nurse tried to dress me ....very comedy
