What to wear after op?
Just wondering what I should take to wear in hospital after my op? My surgery is first thing in the morning & I will be staying in overnight. I was thinking of taking in some jogging bottoms & a comfy top? Will I need a zip up top? What did you feel like wearing afterwards?
Any advice would be great!
Thanks x

Re: What to wear after op?
u wont be able to wear anything that requires u to pull it over your head, so a button up top will be most easy xx

I made like a chav and wore a shell suit lol. No I didn't. I wore jogging bottoms and a black zip up top. Some people also wear vest tops they can step into

I wore jeans, a loose t-shirt that I could step into and a zip up jacket.
Anything that doesn't involve lifting your arms will be great.
Good luck.

Re: What to wear after op?
As your having unders dont take anything thats hard to pull on or fasten i.e skinny jeans or leggings, take like joggers/tracki bottoms and zi up/button up top - not the best outfit glam wise but youll be laughing at how much you cant get your clothes on straightaway - I was.
I walked down the hall towards nurses reception with surgical stockings on showing under cropped trackies going "and on the fashion catwalk this season...." PMSL the nurses were in stitches LOL

Re: What to wear after op?
Hi,
I stayed in overnight after having early morning surgery, i took pj's with me but ended up staying in my gown as i needed a drip in my hand and i had the drains under my arms, I also had partials. The following morning i travelled home in a button up shirt and joggin bottoms, it may be advisable to sit on a pillow travelling home, I found the bumpy roads and the cars accelaration a bit of a problem. Dont feel u have to wear a bra straight away either, my surgeon told me to wear whatever i felt comfortable with. Today is my first day in a bra and i had surgery 6 days ago, go with what your body tells you, you will know if your comfortable or not.
Good luck

Chan - noticed in Tesco today they sell cotton nightshirts that button up. Am thinking this might be a good option for sleeping seeing as it will be too hot in hospital (isn't it always?!) x

Re: What to wear after op?
Can't remember what bottoms I wore but I brought a strechy top with a zip up the front and just wore that over my bra. Also I now it sounds crazy but you won't wanna be fussing with buckles of laces so slip on shoes are a must. x

Re: What to wear after op?
Thanks Rach. I do already have a button up nightshirt which I am planning to take but will check out the tesco ones when I'm down there next. I remember it being really boiling hot last time I was in hospital - I had the fan on in my room constantly!
Pinkbabe, great tip about the slip on shoes! I never would have thought about that?!
