Had to take my piercings out :(
Had to have my dermal piercings removed today. The nurse said at my pre - op that they use something during the op that heats up metal in your body and can burn ur skin??? She said she would double check with the surgoen but he's out of the country and because my op is Thursday I didn't want to risk turning up with the piercings and not being able to have the op (dermals need to be cut out). Slightly gutted but hopefully it will be worth it..
Also brought another post op bra....how sexy lol

Ahh babe, it's a small sacrifice to make for your boobies!! You won't even care when you're waking up on the day of your op! I didn't have to remove any piercings but I had to go through the pain of not wearing any nail varnish, fake tan or makeup on the day of my op. Oh and not to mention the fact we can't wear any deodorant haha! But trust me, babe, it'll be so, so worth it when you wake up and look down at your gorgeous chest for the first time!!
Congratulations in advance and good luck!!
Take care, honey xxxx

I had to take my dermals all out too. I had a awesome pattern around my eye of them, have to get used to being naked around my eye now, haha.

Re: Had to take my piercings out :(
its because of a machine they use during surgery or to restart a hard in an emergency, cant remember the name now
I was allowed to keep my engagement and wedding ring on
Also I had a bit of bb cream, blush and some mascara both times
but I did check if that was allowed xx

I had a metal ball in.. THE TINIEST metal ball EVER and someone in the theatre complained. Plus I forgot to tell the clinic I had a metal filling.. since they asked about crowns, not fillings.tinkerbell24 wrote:its because of a machine they use during surgery or to restart a hard in an emergency, cant remember the name now

SCARY SUIT WOMAN came into my room after the op:
I was asked if I removed all my piercings, and I said yes... this was INTIMIDATING! So... I didn't admit it at all. Now I'm paranoid of a weird lawsuit against me.

Re: Had to take my piercings out :(
I was ok to wear deodorant for mine. I wasn't sure, so turned up without and checked with the nurse. Luckily she said yes, as i was sweating with nerves! Apparently my surgeon gives you a wash down with antiseptic before any way, so that will remove any things from your skin.
Perhaps go without, but take some with you? xx
