Numb under nipple
So I've read on from this forum that it can take up to two years for the sensation here to come back, I'm 3 months and half now and can't feel anything below the nipple...
I'm just curious really as to whether any of the members here further down the line have experienced the feeling come back any sooner than this time frame? :) xx

Re: Numb under nipple
Im still numb between around 5-7 if you looked at my boobs straight on and it were a clock! Maybe a little less, but it still feels weird.
But on the plus side, I do actually have nipple sensations now...which is nice...

Re: Numb under nipple
Ha ha Jen youv'e got me sitting here stroking my boobs! ( just aswell the curtains are closed as there,s a primary school over our garden wall!) My right one was numb from and including nipple downwards ,I'm 16 months post op and given up hope off sensation returning, but prompted by your post have been having a wee feel about and I can feel that one when touched! not to the same extent as my left one !but atleast I can feel it being touched! , ever so lightly, nipple on that one still kinda numb unless you give it a good old tweek, then In can feel it but it's not a nice feeling more like when you'd press on a bruise.
As you say it can take up to 2 years for sensation to return , so try not to worry you've still got lots of healing going on. . XXX

Re: Numb under nipple
I wouldn't worry Jen... You're still so very very early in your recovery and everything is still in the early stages of healing even though everything looks good on the outside.
For me, unfortunately I have permanently lost partial sensation of my right nipple. I don't feel light touch at all from that, but can feel a good squeeze.
I'm not worried though... Its a small price for 'me' to pay for my boobs which I'm happy with
But at just 3 months post-op, nipple nerves still have 21 months of healing ahead of them!!! That's such a long time away yet Jen. xx

Re: Numb under nipple
Haha mirren!! Got to have a good feel :)
I'm not too worried either as pre BA I wasn't sensitive so I won't mind much! I can't feel my nipples unless it's more if a squeeze too just wondered how everyone's getting on further down the line! For me i won't be upset if it stays how I am as I was used to it anyway almost! :) xx

Thanks mrs ball, would be interesting to hear if any of us have actually got that feeling back fully because it seems quite common not to? xx
