Appointment went perfectly!!!

Hi girls!!
So i had my appointment with Mr. Mahdi and he had me take my clothes off again so he could measure me! He took my measurements and said i have an abnormally broad ribcage for my frame (always full of compliments.. Last time he kept repeating the fact i was an AA hahaha)..
I told him i wanted to consider going 30cc bigger and he agreed this was definitely an option! So he's decided to try 310 and 340 on the day! I'm so happy!! He did state that the implants will actually go in the bin if they don't fit though. I said 'i thought you used sizers to test what they will look like' and he said 'we dont do that anymore. We actually put the implant in and if it doesn't fit, then it doesn't fit. But the main thing is i want you to be happy!'
Aw he was so sweet towards me! I'm thoroughly happy now and i completely trust him to make the right decision on the day!! Yayyyyy!!!! Xxxxx

Oh I'm so so pleased! You can sit back and look forward to friday now

He said between a medium C and a large C so that's just perfect for me because i wanted to end up with a C! He was showing me sizers (not implants) and completely slagging them off saying 'these are crap. These are not real sizes!! I have used thousands of 340 implants and these sizes are not accurate!!' so funny hahah!!

There's really hardly any difference between 310 and 340 though so he said it will be fine xxx

Hmmmm - there is a difference between 310cc and 340cc - i know its quiet subtle (in terms of volume) but it culd mean a lot ..

if i am correct Cookie (hope you dont mind) had 460cc originally and then went down to 410cc..

if there were no differences hun - the manufacturers wont make such tiny little additions in sizes ..

have you tried the rice test? I personally did this and originally made an error (thought i had measured a 380cc, but actually was 340cc) when i made the top up - there was a difference in the appearance.

Yeah there is a difference but he said it's only about 1cm projection-wise! He said he'll make the decision on the day though!

Excellent news! 340 is a good size ;)

There can be quite a difference though, bear in mind. I went from 32aa to 32E with 340s, so that works out at around 57cc per cup. Its different for everyone though. Also, dont put money on the C cup - its impossible to guess. Again, I went in thinking I'd come out a C, and technically I did, as I thought I was a 36 band...but Im not! So just dont put too much stock into the cup size. At the end of the day, the implant has been chosen to suit your frame and will look great on you, whatever the cup.

I agree with charli. Don't focus on cup size because many women will say after omg I'm a F but I don't look it... You do look it but it's just that your perception of what that looks like is wrong... Don't worry about the cup sizes they are just numbers.. As long as your happy with the look that's all that matters... Be prepared to be bigger than a c though!

my surgeon used the sizers as I had unders and even though I tried on the implants in the consultations he said that he takes into consideration when doing unders tha that the size of trying them on isnt always true

Also he took my pics in that I showed him of the look i liked and thats what he sized me too then he used the implant that matched that look

Im going to call my surgeon and ask if sizers are crap cause now im worred that another surgeon has called them crap   

when I had a consutlation before my first BA size was a huge issue for me and my surgeon got a 360cc implant out then showed me the sizer and how it filled, he uses saline water and the 2 looked the exact same size

You're absolutely correct Lil   

Depending on your body type, even the smallest amount of CCs can make a BIG difference.

your surgeons suggestion about minimal difference in projection 'I personally found' was correct, but its not that I was worried about. It was the width and the width if implants can make all the difference between a nice pair of perky boobs and a pair of boobs that look out of proportion to your body. 

Once I had the 40CC reduction it was amazing what the small amount of difference in dimentions made for 'my body' the wide boobs would often make feel like I looked fat and matronly...now the width fits they look entirely different!

so never underestimate the increase or decrease in volume, because it really does make such a difference.

its hilarious too how the surgeon so willingly dismissed sizers too when all the top surgeons in the country are using them   .... Horse for courses though hey

Tinks - the sizers are not crap - cos Mr Chana also discussed them with me ...

He said normally - once he and the patient are in a debate over the size - he uses sizers ...

Cos that way he knows what look you are trying to achieve and what he can fit in at the surgery table ..

He did mention that at the 2nd consultation to me

im just stressing out over everything I know people who have had reops said I would but omg I had no idea how bad i would be!!

I really thought that the sizers were a great idea and my surgeon does alot of breast reconstruction and used the sizers alot

It doesnt make sense to just throw away a perfectly good implant after being tried why not use a sizer?

Nope nope, makes no sense at all...... Its funny how all the BAAPS surgeons seem to use them.

Maybe the surgeon doesn't know how?  

yeah my surgeon uses them alot and always on a reconstruction

they are weird little things but was so good getting to see one next to the actual implant

I know that as I wanted 380cc he did try to get the sizer to that but there was no way it was happening!! so he took it down to the 360cc had a wee look at the pics (sounds like he was just have a wee wander about the theatre lol)  I gave him sat me up     I can just imagine how great I looked at that time of my life haha thankfully I will never know lol

but i was just so confused as to why they might have been classed as crap I know all surgeon are very diff in the way they work but normally in the (what I call) the surgeon circle they dont normally say anything negative around what other surgeon do or dont do xx

That's great, I'm so pleased it's all sorted for you, that he will try both will make your run up so much more exciting even though it's only a few days of not having to worry about it!

Thanks girls! I think it's clear that different surgeons have different opinions.. I don't think Mr. Mahdi meant they're rubbish.. He just said made it clear that the sizers don't match up to the volume of the actual implants.
Tink, don't worry!! Every surgeon is different. I'm sure other surgeons will use sizers on the day but mine doesn't do this himself.

yeah kinda hard not to worry when a surgeon says somethings crap lol

but seeing the sizer next to the implant i seen they are the exact same size so thats made me feel better, so seeing it for my own eyes helped me make my mind up on size as this was a huge debate for me and my surgeon and he showed me how he would choose the right size by explaining how the sizer works
