arm exercises? Empty arm exercises?

Post by tigertonix 8th December 2013, 1:53 am

Hi girls!
I've asked this question before, i know, but i think i wasn't very specific last time. Basicaly, I like to train my arms for about 10-15 mins a day.. Nothing serious and definitely not so that i'm in the league of jodie marsh haha! I basically just do bicep curls..so just working my biceps. Do you think i will have to give this up permenantly after surgery? I really hope not because i enjoy doing it and i like feeling strong in my arms. I don't do any chest exercises like bench presses or butterflies or anything..
I guess what im asking is do bicep curls affect the pectoral muscle? Will it cause muscle distortion? (im having unders and i've heard muscle distortion can occur with weight lifting).. But im only doing bicep curls so will this affect my implants? Thank you so much!! Xxx

Its not at all the lifting of weights that causes muscle distortion Tiger. This is a complication caused by the tightness of the actual muscle. You don't need to be a weight lifter to suffer distortion. It could happen to anyone at all who has tight chest muscles.

The reason weight lifters and the rest of us are requested to reveal our lifestyles is to help surgeons when deciding choice of implant and weight lifters in particular are a high risk category to have tight pectoral muscles and therefore would most likely be advised to have overs to save them the possibility of revision if it were to happen, given how high the risks are for them.

So the bicep curls you speak of are nothing at all to be concerned about Tiger, nor would any weight lifting be either if this was something you'd like to do - there's nothing at all stopping you from doing whatever it is you want to do in life. Once you get the all clear from your surgeon, you can treat your boobs as your own and not worry about the implants inside at all (other than to maybe have them scanned every 3 years or so to check for ruptures)

The only time you won't be able to do your bicep curls is during your recovery which is generally anything from around 4 to 12 weeks depending on 'your' healing. Xx
