More questions!
Although my surgeon is brilliant he's not readily available to answer questions so as I have had some wonderful information and support here I thought maybe someone could help.
I am 3 weeks post reduction, all is looking good however I'm still quite sore my nipples are so sore and sensitive! I'm having a nightmare sleeping and finding any bra comfy all the time I have several that have been recommended.
I was given micro pore tape to use and today when I took it off underneath my breasts are quite red, I guess this could be from the sports bra or could it be the tape? It's not rash like just red. Could it be a sensitivity to the tape and that's what's also contributing to my soreness?
I have to call the surgeon again on Monday and possibly see him on Wednesday. I'm nervous of touching my new boobs I have an irrational fear or them splitting open
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Re: More questions!
I cant really speak to the reduction, but 3wks post I would expect there to still be some soreness and sensitivity. A reduction is a big op, so its going to take a while to heal.
Micropore is supposed to be hypoallergenic, but I always get redness from it. As long as its not itchy/prickly (other than scar itchyness), it should be fine and go down in a couple days.
I wouldnt have thought at 3wks they'll be splitting open. However, saying that, at 2wks for my first shower post BA, i'd convinced myself that they were going to fall out as soon as I took my bra off!! They should be fine though.

Re: More questions!
Its perfectly normal to still feel sore lovely. Try popping a round make-up pad or even a breast feeding pad over your nipples to help with the sensitivity. The make-up pads worked for me and acted as a nice soft cushion for my nipples instead of rubbing against the bra material.
The redness under your boobs - maybe try a sanitary towel or a panty liner (sticky side against the bra) to act as a cushion for you there too. Often the pressure of the bra against your sensitive skin can cause soreness and discomfort, so this lil trick helps lots
The micropore does cause redness for some women, so that's not at all unusual, but as long as there's no rash or blistering its fine babe and don't worry about the wounds splitting open, they're fine.
As long as you're following your post-op instruction with no heavy lifting and taking things easy with no pressure to your upper body they'll be OK. Touching them though isn't going to do a thing sweetheart

Re: More questions!
Until you're given the all clear CMH, then it really would be advisable to remain in your sportsbra babe. It was 12 weeks before I was able to come out of sportsbras, so please do follow your own surgeons instructions.
If you don't hun you do risk voiding your aftercare, so do wait until your surgeon says its OK hun. Xx

Re: More questions!
Sorry it wasn't what you wanted to read babe but its always best to follow your own surgeons post-op advise - you've gone through a lot to get to where you are today haven't you hun and its not worth risking anything is it for the sake of a bra. Xx
