How do you know if i sports bra is too small? Empty How do you know if i sports bra is too small?

Post by emz1988 2nd July 2009, 10:53 am

Hey Girls,

I hope your all okay,

I was wearing a 34 c / d straight after my op.

I then went down to a 32 c/d as swelling went down etc.

i have now decided to measure my self and get myself a good fitting sports bra.

I brought my self the shock absorber 5 in one.
when i measured my self it turns out im a 30 DD, just put the sports bra on and it fits quite snuggly, but not uncomfortably tight.

Should sports bras fit snuggly, the waist band feels much better and secure like it isnt going to move any where, but i dont know how you know if the cups are too small?

Any help would be muchly appreciated!!

Love emma xx

When mine was too small in the cup size it really hurt. My boobs would go numb and feel like they'd explode! I had to take it off for some relief. I went up a cup size and they felt fine after that x

Ohhhh 3 week isn't long! I've still not been measured properly yet although I've tried on various sizes and the ones that fitted me range from 32D to 34F... so I've no idea!

ive got a stupid back size like a 30 is comfortable on the 2nd setting and last setting but sometimes a 32 is too big on the tightest setting. how did you girls work out what bank size you are, because ive read that its best to find out your band size and then find the cup size from there.

Im with you on this one emz Im a 30dd too which is a pain in the bum to find bras easily and exactly like you on a 32 I have to have it on the tightest hook but still feels slightly loose.
I think the shock absorber 5 in one bras just 'feels' small too as I think I fit mine but cos the style isnt a full cup like most sports bras it feels like its smaller.
I just got measured in debenahms and a small independant lingerie shop they both said 30" back and the cup size depends on style, brand etc

I agree it would hurt, leave marks!! I have the Shock absorber 5 in one multiway..Personally I find it comes up small. I have 36c and it is snug!! However, other 36c would be too big on me. Different brands are different. I ordered two 34 d bras, different brand and style, arrived yesterday one is perfect the other is too big in every way!!

How I measured myself, was directly under my breasts tightly, to find band size I measure 30inches add 4 ( for even number 5 for uneven)= 34 Band and then across fullest part of bust not too tight = 38 1/4 :) = 34D bra. This is what I have been measured professionally at in a few places. However, I fit nicely in 34c and 32dd too depending on bra. I know confusing or what Screwy

My P.S. by the way said just last week that I definately look a C cup. and agree about bra sizing being 'odd' I am happy with look, size....but bra fitting, sizing and buying....the same as everyone else here I guess Hysterical Help!

Im the same Emz, I just keep trying them on first. Remember, sports bras are designed for natural boobs that squash flatter more easily so the concept is totally different from your regular bras.

Hope u finfld your perfect fit. Xx
