Re: Confused...need to make a decision
Overs are always the first choice of placement for a surgeon unless there is little breast tissue, there are some studies to suggest unders have a lesser risk of CC but they also have a higher risk of double bubble so there are pro's and con's of both placements that are not limited to just those complications.
CC will happen to every one of us to a certain extent but the furries have a almost Velcro affect meaning that they lessen the risk of CC to a certain extent more than most other textured implants x

Re: Confused...need to make a decision
yeah thats the thing that pit me off the velcro effect lol
I read that it can be hard to get them out to replace them but then Ive read and been told by a girl who has them that they might never need replaced which is great xx

Re: Confused...need to make a decision
It can be a lot to take in! but knowledge is power like they say and its great to be clued up about the whole BA journey! :)
The Velcro does sound a little scary like tink said lol but the surgeon if not already skilled enough have to do a lot more training so if you do go for them you know your surgeon will know how they work etc :)
good luck xx

Hi there, do you mean they will hv to have specialist training to be able to use this type of implant? I can't find a register on this x

Re: Confused...need to make a decision
They don't have to have specialist training to use the PU implants they do need to know what they are doing and understand that they are different. There is no register so say for them but they tend to be used by the more experienced surgeons .
This is a really good explanation of CC , causes and the case for a PU implant as opposed to a textured

Re: Confused...need to make a decision
Could you maybe ask one of the surgeons on here for their opinion/ indications for usage, on these implants? I had an interesting discussion with my surgeon pre op about them.... ? Just an idea.

Re: Confused...need to make a decision
There is a different technique to put in and remove PURE implants and surgeons that works with those implants are instructed by the manufacturer how to do.Doughty wrote:Hi there, do you mean they will hv to have specialist training to be able to use this type of implant? I found a register over UK surgeons that use the PURE/furry brazilian implant when I did my research. I think I found it on the Eurosurgical website, but I'm not sure.
Garrik Georgeau and Mrs Kat are 2 UK surgeons that work a lot with this implant.
Furry Brazilians prevent sagging if you are prone to sagging, they don't put weight on the thin skin on your lower part of your breast as a normal implant do. This is because of the velcro effect they have.
But if you already have sagging they won't take that away. But it will not make it worse as a normal implant will do.
I think the best way you could go now is to have consultations with really experienced surgeons that you can trust.

Re: Confused...need to make a decision
I agree with Isabel, it's a different technique to normal implants and therefore takes training on how to insert them correctly xx
