Re: 1 day post op need advice please!!!
Morning ladies!
I woke up this morning and noticed my wounds are leaking a tiny bit. Not a lot at all but have noticed a few spots on my dressings where the stitches are. They don't hurt more than usual. Just wondering is this normal?

Yes it sounds normal, as long as it's not thick and yellow we all get a bit of leaking from the incisions ..xxx

Oh no, dont remove your dressings at all! It'll all be fine, its just a wound, there's bound to be a little leakage. When are you seeing your nurse? She's the only person who should be removing your dressings. Theres more chance of infection if you keep having a peek.
When you see your nurse for the first wound check up, she'll remove your dressings and have a look if theres anything wrong, how theyre healing, and whether you can shower or not. Unless you start feeling headachy, have a temperature, or any other signs of infections, it'll all be fine. Even if you do get these symptoms, dont remove the dressing, just call your nurse for an earlier appointment.
Sorry if that seems harsh, but you really dont want to encourage any bacteria in the wound.

Thanks Charlii, I will leave them alone. Tbh I wasn't keen on the thought if having a look and your right I'm feeling fine, got no temp or pain. I guess all wounds will discharge a little bit. I'm just being paranoid
I am actually really pleased with my progress. I feel better than what I imagined.
I'm seeing my nurse weds 6th Nov. I will stay put until then unless things changes.
