Breast reduction
New York, NY (I-Newswire) October 8, 2013 - While breast augmentation surgery has traditionally been associated with breast implants, millions of women now look to reduce their breast size instead. Dr. Mihye Choi, a board-certified plastic surgeon from KCNY Plastic Surgery in New York, speaks on the growing popularity of breast reduction surgery.
"While it is true that women may seek breast reduction surgery because they are insecure about the appearance of their breasts, this is not always the case," Dr. Choi explains. Having an overly large chest is not always just a cosmetic issue. It can be very uncomfortable, as well as lead to a variety of chronic health problems, including back and neck pain, and breathing and respiratory issues. Having breast reduction surgery has proven valuable in easing these health issues for millions of women, according to Dr. Choi.
"No woman should be made to feel uncomfortable in her own skin," Dr. Choi continues, "At our practice we stress the importance of fully restoring a woman's health and confidence with each procedure. Breast reduction surgery does just that."
Dr. Choi works closely with each of her patients before surgery, to ensure optimal final results. Ideal candidates for breast reduction surgery are those at risk for future health issues, due to the size and bulk of their breasts. "During surgery, the extra breast tissue and skin is removed, and the breast is reshaped to each patient's ideal shape and size," Dr. Choi continues. The procedure works especially well for younger patients. Patients will have a full recovery period of about 3 to 4 weeks, although many can return to their normal activities within a week or two. To help the healing process, patients may also have to wear a compression bra.
"Many women now speak about how their breast reduction surgery not only improved their health, but also gave them back their confidence," Dr. Choi concludes.
As the conversation about this surgery continues among former patients who have loved their results, Dr. Choi expects to continue to see the demand for this beneficial surgery grow.

Its funny reading this article as we too on this forum have seen an increase in women having breast reductions. Infact when I first came here four years ago there wasn't one woman who was here for support through a reduction.
Having seen the results of a few reductions now and talking to the ladies who have undergone this procedure it really is amazing to see how fantastic it is for these women to have such large sagging breasts that must have had a massive impact on their lives and then to see the nice pert boobs with lovely nipples in a nice pert position on the breast... Its incredible! The skill that goes into a breast reduction really is something else isn't it and for the women to have those gorgeous pert boobs after... Well, the ones I've spoken to have been elated and I don't blame blame them, they all look fantastic! Xx
