Settling in!
I know I am early still in my recovery and need to be patient but.........
....... My left boob is looking great and aim happy even if it doesn't drop anymore as the whole purpose of my BA was to restore my upper pole fullness after pregnancy and breast feeding 3 wee ones.
However, my right boob is sitting higher and is more full at the top. I think it is very noticeable and try not to analyse them every day but I just can't help it!
At what point do you know that it is as good as it gets and a re-op may be required? Or it is sometimes just one of those things if the differences are not deemed great enough to warrant a re-op?
I think it is better than it was, but I am just curious to know when I should start to be concerned? I know it takes a while for them to soften and am ok with waiting for that but am rather self conscious of my wonky boobs!!

Re: Settling in!
It will take months before they both settle down, and I don't think mine are ever the same at the moment.
I couldn't tell you when they are considered "the best they are going to be" as I am only 6 weeks post op, but I am hoping that by 9 months post op I will be pretty much there!
It is completely normal at this stage for them to be quite different, you have had two seperate operations, they will not heal at the same rate x

Also I wanted to add that no-one will notice that they are wonky!

Re: Settling in!
I suppose I am going to be the most critical - my husband says he sees a slight difference but not as much as I make out!

Re: Settling in!
Ohhhh lovely, as you know already you are early days.
Its going to be at least 6 months until you see anything like your final result.
I know its so, so hard when you're the one healing and wanting things to happen and as many times we tell you, right now, its just words... Bit it honestly does require patience.
Do you have an appointment with your surgeon for around 6 weeks post-op? If not, maybe make one hun. Your surgeon will then be able to take a look at the stubborn boob and they can feel whether or not its going to continue dropping on its own, or if it might require some massage to encourage it to drop. But massage should only ever been done under instruction from your surgeon so they can follow your progress hun. Xx

Re: Settling in!
Thanks Cookie.
I have an appointment booked on friday next week at my 6 week point.
I did mention to him at my 3 week check that the right was sitting higher. He said I could massage it a little - 20 seconds or so twice a day, but he didnt seem concerned.
I think he also sees me at 6 months and 1 year.
It's funny as in everyday life I am a very level headed sensible person, and evetyone that knows me says i take everything in my stride, but when it comes to these new boobs that all sees to go out of the window!! Lol!!

Its normal babe and why forums such as ours are so fantastic in allowing us all, a group of women who are having, or who have had a BA to come together and support each other through the highs and the lows of what really is an emotional roller coaster

Re: Settling in!
This forum has been a god send.. I have not told any of my friends or family apart from my sister about my BA so it is great to be able to ask questions, read other peoples concerns and generally get it off my chest - pardon the expression!
