Mondors cord.. Not sure?!
For the past couple of weeks I've felt like a stretching pulling feeling down under my incisions on my rib cage wen i move a certain way yet every time I looked thinking for bruising there is nothing there this is on both sides.
I've not been looking at my incisions or boobs closely though as I was getting a bit paranoid over the slightest thing but today I took my bra of had a good look and when I looked at my insisions there was what looked like a big vein poking out not very obvious so I pulled my skin a bit taut on both sides and about three on each side appeared! Would this be the cause for the slight discomfort I get and does this sound like anything to worry about or is it mondors cord?
Thank you xx

Hi Katie... If you look at the video on youtube below its a lady's blog and if you go to the 2 minute mark she quickly shows you her mondors cord so you might be able to compare to see if you think it is that or not..

Re: Mondors cord.. Not sure?!
Yup. Sounds like mondors cord to me babe
Its very common after having a BA and not something to worry about at all. It need no surgical intervention but massaging the vein will help it go away.
It will go away all on its own hun but the massage will help to ease it sweetness.
Really hoping it settles soon

Re: Mondors cord.. Not sure?!
Just use your fingertips lovely and small circular motions up and down the vein. Be careful of your scars though if you've not yet been given the all clear to massage those yet.
If you find massage too uncomfortable or difficult to do because you've not yet been given the all clear to massage, don't worry about it babe. Its not essential to massage, the mondors will eventually go, its just the massage will help to quicken it. Xxx

Re: Mondors cord.. Not sure?!
Ouch! They can be quite painful those, so I hope they're not causing too much discomfort hun. Xx
Re: Mondors cord.. Not sure?!
That is exactly what I have on my right boob, I asked the nurse earlier about it and she said that it was a vein and nothing to worry about. Mine only shows if I hold my arm above shoulder level.
I will get massaging, thanks for posting this

Mine are only visible if I stretch/ lift arms up but for a while I've had the discomfort and wondered what it is.

Re: Mondors cord.. Not sure?!
I'm sure this is what I have too. I'm feeling really bruised under my incision line but there's nothing there. It's really painful. I just had another look after reading this and when lifting my arms up I think I can see the veins. Might try to start massaging but it really does hurt to touch them. Thanks for this post Katie xx
