Re: Types of implants
There are round and anatomical shapes implants, anatomical are the tear drop shaped. The profile is how far they stick out from your body.

Re: Types of implants
I also found all these shapes and sizes very confusing so I showed my surgeon pictures of my "dream boobs" and he told me what type of implant he needed to use to create that look.

Go online hun, have a look at boobie pictures, trust me there are thousands out there lol! And just try and find some that you want yours to look like. Then print out some pictures and take them with you when you next have a consultation x

Re: Types of implants
Saline arent really used here in the UK because they don't feel or look as natural as the other implants.
The two implants used here in the UK are silicone and Polyeurothane.
The manufacturers most commonly used are Allergan, Mentor, Nagor and Pure. Xx

Re: Types of implants
Surgeons may use them 'at special request' but in the four years I've been here I've known of only one British woman to have Saline. All the rest have had silicone or polyeurothane.
Silicone is still VERY popular in the US because Americans still have a fear of silicone after they were banned over there for a while. Still they've been reintroduced over there, they're slowly coming round to the benefits of silicone over saline. Xx
