Confused and need your experience !!!
Hello every one :)
as you can notice Im still new here and I need help to answer some questions. I did my research and done some consultations in Manchester. in these consultations I met only 2 surgeons but I will carry on to meet more. I met Mr Paul Clark from Transform and also Mr Alleruzzo from Hospital group.
Im 34 years old mother of 3 lovely kids , 165cm tall and 55Kg with 34A Mr Clarke advise me with 310cc over the muscle on the other hand Mr Alleruzzo advise me to choose between 400-450 under!!
and as you know each doctor defends his opinion by some reasons !
When I asked Mr Clark about Why over the muscle he answer the procedure will be easier than cutting the muscle and going under !! I notice from my search most of Mr Clarke ladies going with over muscle. to be honest Mr Clarke was so confident and I feel confortable in his consultation. but I have doubt with the size that he suggested for me !
Mr Alleruzzo advised me to go under the muscle (still don't know why ) but he told me this the procedure that he used to do it to his ladies. I was happy with the size that he recommend it to me but couldn't find any review about him since he is only 1 years with Hospital group.
So girls Im here to benefit from your experiences...
Any one did the BA with these Surgeons ? What do you think about them ??
Whats the difference between (over or under) the muscle and which one better ?!?!
Im living in North Wales any recommendation for any more surgeons ???
Hope to find answers for my confusion

Re: Confused and need your experience !!!
Hi hun,
I havent had either of these surgeons but if u are unsure I would reccomend booking more consultations and going with the majority.
Placement is really down to a number of factors.. Breast tissue etc and really shouldnt be chosen just because it is easier. If you type placement or unders or overs into the search bar you will get more info. There are many pro's and con's to both... But ultimately I would go with the surgeon who can give reasons for his choice.
I am 5ft6 and 50kg and I had 255cc unders. I am now a 30D. But everyone is different.
Keep us posted hun xx

Re: Confused and need your experience !!!
Hi Laura. With placement, there is no right or wrong answer, but unders tend to be done when there is very little breast tissue. I was flat as a pancake, so unders were inevitable, but if you have enough breast tissue, then overs are an option. Girls say overs tend to be a bit quicker to heal too, as its less invasive.
However, I will say to be wary of anyone that 'only does overs/unders' - this will mean they're not taking your best interest at heart, and are just doing what they feel best at, which may not be best for you.
I would definitely recommend seeing a couple more surgeons, as you've been given quite a margin there (310-450!). See a couple more and find out what more would recommend to you, it will help make the decision. Also, size wise, try making some rice boobies. CC is the same as grams, so just measure the rice out and stick it in the foot of some tights.
I've no experience with either of these men, but type their names into the search bar at the top and you're bound to flag something :)

Re: Confused and need your experience !!!
Hi sweetie...
I don't have any experience re unders/overs but I have met Mr Clarke - he was very nice but he didn't give me the answer I wanted... I was in a dilema (you can read my thread 'I'm off' under the uplift/reduction sections). I therefore sought the opinion of a third consultant (Mr Liew, MyBreast) and I decided to go with him as I felt so at ease and I also went with the majority.
My advice would be to see another consultant and see what he/she says...
Hope you get it sorted and booked soon...x

Hiya,
I've not heard of those surgeons, try typing their names into the search bar at the top of the page x
I would recommend seeing another surgeon and see what they say. Some surgeons prefer to place under the muscle and some prefer to packs over the muscle but most of their decision is based on your breast tissue and body shape, they will offer what they think is best for you xx

Re: Confused and need your experience !!!
My advise would be to have a 3rd consulatation with a bapras baapas registered Surgeon, eg, one from Nuffield, spire, bmi or mybreast.
There is no right or wrong placement, it should be tailored to you not what a surgeon prefers doing.
Unders or partials are usually done for ladies with little breast tissue This is to 'cover ' the upper part of the implant as there's not enough breast tissue to cover the implant.
Overs are done when there's enough breast tissue to cover the implant a pinch test can be done by the surgeon to detriment this.
A bapras bapras registered surgeon can go e you a third opinion ! The consultations are much more in depth and ladies have found them very informative compared to larger company surgeons.

Re: Confused and need your experience !!!
I have read threads on Paul Clarke and I haven't read anything bad about him. I do think you should get another consultation, write everything down that you want to ask , take pics of the looks of what you want to achieve, and what is best for you, your lifestyle, build etc, there are all different factors as to why a surgeon opts for unders on one and overs on another x best wishes xxx

Re: Confused and need your experience !!!
If you can pinch 2cms of your breasts hun then you have enough breast tissue to go over the muscle. If you don't... Then the implants should go partially under the muscle to replace the breast tissue that acts as a cushion over the implant.
mr Clarke was right that if it is possible to go over the muscle then this is the placement that will always be the best option due to it being less invasive.
The other surgeon surgeon claiming going under the muscle was what he used for all of his ladies... Well, I wouldn't like to think about his complication rate. No one placement is right for all at all!
Placements are tailored to our body type. We each have different bodies and therefore our placement will be the one to best suit our body.
You can read more about placenta choices from a BAAPS members [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I'd personally go with mrsballs suggestion about seeing a BAAPS member before making any final decisions Laura, these surgeons are at the top of their game and even if they're someone you don't choose to have surgery with, as a deciding opinion what they suggest could be valuable information to you.
If money is an option you can see a BAAPS surgeon for as little as £25 at MyBreast Laura.
Take your time sweetheart. There are HUGE differences in those opinions and one of those surgeons has got it VERY wrong for 'you'. Xx

Re: Confused and need your experience !!!
Hi Laura,
I was in the same position as you. I saw two surgeons initially, the first guy suggested 340cc unders, Mr Sulaiman @ THG. I obviously wanted to see more people and opted to go to Transform for a consultation. The patient co-ordinator there basically told me unders were stupid and that overs were the best option. I was then sent in to see Mr Meleagros, who suggested 100% full overs around 380-410cc; with the more full implant to help prevent ripping!
As you can imagine I was massively confused. I then saw two more surgeons and both advised unders as I am quite small up top, currently a 34a at best and have very little breast tissue. One of them struggled to believe that anyone would suggest I had overs!
You definitely do need to feel comfortable with your surgeon but do be aware that some surgeons don't like to do some placements. The surgeon I met at transform appears to not do unders at all. If you have plenty of breast tissue then this will be fine, but if not they could end up looking really unnatural.
It all does of course depend on what type of look you're after too.
Just take your time and don't feel pressured.
Good luck.

I agree with the others Hun, there are so many factors that are taken into account when deciding between partials and overs! I would go for another consultation and see what their recommendations are! However if it is possible to go over then that's always the best option.
But you must feel 100% comfortable with your surgeon and his/her choice, don't rush into anything unless you are sure!

Placenta choices
My only advice is to take your time when it comes to consultations. I haven't done my surgery yet and have only been to 2 consultations but my mind is in totally different place now then it was when I went to my first consultation. I thought then that I wanted this to be a quick process and all I wanted was to have my boobs and go on with my life but now I'm happy I've decided to take things slowly.
That day when I'm lying on the operating table, I want to feel like I've done everything I can to make my breasts look as good as possible but also for me to have a safe experience all the way through the process. And from what I've learned here, it's not over just because the surgery is over. Aftercare is so important as well.
I think the best you can do is to do your research about sizes, shapes and come to terms with what YOU think look nice and what doesn't.
We all have different taste.
If I have would have chosen the surgeon at my first consultation and the size he advised me I would have ended up with a lot smaller boobs than I want. But I wasn't very prepared on that consultation so I couldn't say anything when he suggested that size.
I'm a lot more prepared now and my only mission now is to find a surgeon that can create boobs that look as close to what I want as possible. (hopefully I 'find" him tomorrow when I have my 3rd consultation)
This forum makes the process so fun so there is no need to rush....

Re: Confused and need your experience !!!
I had Mr Clarke at the end of April (365 over the muscle) and I've been very happy so far! He is very confident and so reassuring I'm really glad I went with him! Also, the nurses at the hospital said he is most popular amongst staff there which I found reassuring and the nurse at the Birmingham clinic said his scarring is one of the neatest she sees and that over the years she's had next to no problems with any of his patients!
Obviously that's just my experience but I'm very happy! X
