Things I'll need to buy!
Okay guys so I keep spotting things you girls keep mentioning and thinking, "MUST remember to get one of those". Surprise surprise I keep forgetting.
I put a list together but it's looking very small...
Macom (Ordered)
Zip Front M&S Sports Bra (Ordered)
V Pillow & Case
Bio Oil
Button Front PJs
What else should I be adding ladies? I feel like I'm missing something really obvious?
Thanks xxx

The bio oil you won't need for a while, unless you plan to oil your boobs before surgery?
Slippers.
Magazines
Arnica, if you have been advised to take it?

Hello gorgeous Lisa :)
Yeah I plan on getting some this weekend and just using that with or instead of the Palmers that I bought because I don't really like the smell of the Palmers I got x

I got the ice packs from amazon but eBay do them, maybe somewhere like wilkinsons? What I brought from recommendation here are the soft gel ones that you can reuse and I brought two so when your not using one, the other can be I'm the freezer xx

Re: Things I'll need to buy!
Palmers do an unscented butter now Nire. I cannot stand the smell of the original either, its awful!! But we mustn't be the only ones not to like it for Palmers to have sorted a unscented one. Don't know how anyone could use the original eughhhhh!
You might want to get some sennakot in Nire, some anti-histamine, a hot water bottle if you don't have one, some dry shampoo a facial spritzer is great in this hot weather. Really helps to cool you down and feel fresh. Xx

Re: Things I'll need to buy!
Haha Cookie I'm glad someone else doesn't like the smell, thought I was just weird. I'll put up with it until I get some Bio Oil, meant to grab some in Tesco but had the O/H rushing me around as per usual so got all flustered and forgot! :P
So now I have...
Macom (Ordered)
Zip Front M&S Sports Bra (Ordered)
V Pillow & Case
Travel Neck Pillow (journey home)
Electric Toothpaste
Fem Fresh & Baby Wipes
Antihistamine (always have these anyway)
Dry Shampoo
Still need to buy...
Bio Oil
Palmers Unscented (thanks Cookie)
Button Front PJs
Slippers
Ice Packs
Hot Water Bottle
What is Sennakot Cookie?
So I know a lot of this stuff is for the recovery process but what do I actually need to take with me?
Macom
Travel Neck Pillow
Electric Toothpaste
Baby Wipes
Antihistamine (always have these anyway)
Button Front PJs
Slippers
Ice Packs
And then the usual overnight bag stuff.
I won't need the rest until I am actually home will I?

What sort of bags did you all take?
Considering I am not a 'bag person' I seem to have quite a collection of luggage bags...

Re: Things I'll need to buy!
Haha oh you and cookie wouldn't like to smell me because im using the palmers cocoa one! is that the one you don't like haha!!
Im not 100% sure but I don't think your need the antihistamine at hospital because its for the itching and that wont start until you start to heal, I also don think your need the icepacks because you wont have any freezer and your still be on pain relief...
and sennakot is a mild laxative to help you go to the loo because apparently being constipated is very common lol!! xx

Re: Things I'll need to buy!
Haha Jen I smell the same at the moment, will use up the bottle I have, I might as well, then I am straight on to the unscented one! :P
Haha I'll deffo need that then, I plan on eating lots of bran and fruit as well! ;)
I have so many bag options and I think Ste will think I've gone mad if I try and pack already!
Size wise though, how much did you all end up taking?
I plan on staying over the night before in a Holiday Inn because I live over two hours away. And I certainly plan on giving my hair a good scrub in the show followed by a blow dry and straighten to make it as manageable as possible over the next few days until I can get the mother or my hair dresser to wash it for me :D
That reminds me, when did you all start driving again? I'll be in no rush but I was just curious xx

Re: Things I'll need to buy!
An overnight night bag or a small flight bag is more than ample.
The hospital will provide ice packs hun, so you can leave yours at home babe.
Sennakot is as Jen said, its a mild laxative, not something you need to be taking with you, but its not something you're going to be wanting to run out for after surgery either. The GA can sometimes play havoc with your stomach and its very common to get a little constipated after surgery. So you'll definitely want to get this in.
Pack some magazines to read too Nire. Its not worth taking a book because your concentration span will be nil after surgery lol. But being able to flip through the pages and check out the gossip and pics is just about the most you can take in and you'll want something to while a away the hours... I also bought some pick'n'mix to take too. They're my fav, but any of your fav nibble is good to take, so you have something at hand should you want something sweet.
I packed a pack of ginger biscuits too. Thankfully I didn't need them this time but I was ready just incase I was sick after the GA. Ginger really helps with sickness and when your not feeling hungry at all if you are sick, but still need to get the pain meds down you, then having a small biscuit is better than nothing babe. Xx

Re: Things I'll need to buy!
I must have been the most unorganised person in the whole world. I went in (it was day surgery) with just my handbag containing a kindle and my iphone and not much else!!!

Living reading this as I have my 2 Primark bags packed next to me! One with clothes, vest dress, vest tops and got long maxi skirt to wear there and for coming home! knickers, sports bras, dressing gown, button up night dress!
The other has toiletries, my booby folder with all my notes, magazine, iPad, charger, elec toothbrush etc.
I've just had a shower and scrubbed and shaved moisturised as can't use lotions tomo! I feel quite greasy right now!!!!
I love the bag/general preparing you doing already, all nice part of the build up!!!

Re: Things I'll need to buy!
I actually got some wheat pillows from Superdrug for £2.99 each (2) to use as my ice packs because you can freeze them and lay them on you in a more moulded fashion. They're smaller so pretty light. I keep hearing about palmers - what are you using this for? And bio oil...is that for the scars once the bandages are off? Xx good luck again! Hope all goes well xx

Re: Things I'll need to buy!
Ohh good luck for today Specialkj you sound lovely and organised!!
I know what you mean though I love packing before holidays etc... makes me really excited.
Crispy, I've been using the Palmers just to smother all over my boobs to just help increase skin elasticity. Also I'm drinking a lot of water, it might not make any difference but I feel a lot better knowing that I'm doing what I can to reduce stretch marks.
Cookie yeah I suppose you're right with the magazines. I was going to take my iPad and mooch through the usual but I can't guarantee the signal can I.
Bought myself a lovely baggy jumper today that it totally going to be my No.1 hide boobs from colleagues jumper. Love it!

Re: Things I'll need to buy!
About your Ipad - there was no free wifi in the hospital I used so what I did Nire was used my phones personal hotspot as my wifi connection. I'm unsure if other phones have this but if you have an Iphone you can connect your Ipad to your phone in this way and use your mobile connection if you'd like to. Xx
