So many things not right!
Hi girls,
I am now over 3 months po from an uplift with 390 unders. Things seem to get better for a while but now seemed to have taken a step backwards. Both breasts are very sore at night and seem to get hard at night. During the day they are just generally achey but more than they used to be.
I am seeing my ps in June for a 4 month check and have a few concerns, the above being one of them. I also am still worried about the nipple height on both breasts as I can barely keep them in a bra. I still have excess skin underneath and I hate the look of my left breast altogether as it almost looks like a bit of double bubble. I seem to have all the things I dreaded could go wrong, is there possibly anything else. I feel like a right hypocondriact and worried my ps will think so to.
The last time I saw him he said to see how things went but surely after 3 months they can't change much more for the better and in fact seem to be getting worse. Please Help, I can't stand to look at them anymore as all I see is problems. My breasts were awful before and don't get me wrong my ps has got them in a normal breast position which I never thought possible but it has come with a whole other host of probs. I know they will never be perfect but I didn't think it would be like this. I just want boobs that look relatively normal and feel like my boobs. I am so fed up with being uncomfortable at night and can't remember the last time I had a normal nights sleep - was definately before my op.
Sorry for the long depressing post but I just don't know what to do and don't feel as though I am going to get anywhere when I speel it all out to my ps

oooh sweeite!! im so sorry you feel this way, wish i could give u s great big hug!!
First things first, i dont wont to patronize you by saying they proberly arent as bad as u think they r, but i bet they arent, we always look for perfection in ourselves...esp aftr spending 4k!!
Well you have an app booked then? mayb u could move it closer, to save you all this worry and try and get it sorted quicker.
Im sure your not the only person on here to be worried about things going wrong, so if it helps, your most certainly NOT alone!!! unfortunatly, i cant offer u much advice regarding th problems ur experiencing,.
What kind of after care do you get with the company u went with? if there is the chance you need a reop, will you get it for free? check this hun, and make sure that u call them if you already havnt and get them to record everything you have told them onto your file. It will hep at a later stage. I hope everything settles for you, again u r very early in the recovery stages...but i understand completly where your coming from.
Hopefully someone can offer you better advice then me.
good luck hun xxx

Re: So many things not right!
Thing can DEFINATELY change after 3 months post-op sweetness.
The aching you're experiencing... Just a thought, but are you wearing a bras that are giving your breasts enough support? Are you still wearing a support bra at night?
It's just that even when we're told it's OK to wear normal bras, some of us take a little longer than others to adjust and need to gradually settle into them.
I didn't get the OK to wear wires till I was 3 months post-op and it took me a couple of months of aching boobs to settle in, I had to start with just an hour a day in wires then back into my sportsbra for the rest of the day and build up the time over the couple of months till I could stand wearing wires all day..
You may also need that extra support at night too, so maybe try getting back into your support bra if you're now sleeping without it?
The double bubble you think you have, if you haven't already brought this to your surgeons attention, then when you see him at your 4 month check this should be mentioned to him and WRITTEN in your notes hun, be sure it's written down, your surgeon wouldn't consider touching your boobs even if there were a complication till you are at least 6 months post-op lovely and by that time, things may well look VERY different to how they look today.
Chin up sweetie, you'll be OK, just be sure you have your surgeon note down ALL your concerns if they're still there when you go back to see him. xx

Hi Hun
I'm so sorry you're feeling like that hun. Jen is right try to bring your appointment forward and do not for one moment feel bad about bringing your concerns to your surgeons attention. If you're not happy with something you must tell him your concerns and Cookie gave me some good advice....make sure all your concerns are logged in your notes as you might need this bought to attention if you should require a reop in the future.
Big hugs for you hun I wish there was more I could do to help you.

Re: So many things not right!
Thanks girls for your advice and hugs, I appreciate it.
I was given the all clear for normal bras at 6 weeks and found them really comfy and it actually improved the shape etc which is why I can't understand why after nearly 2 months of wearing one they are aching now. I have always worn and still am wearing my good old macom bra at night as I am definately more uncomfy without one so definately supporting the girls lol.
I am with MyBreast so I think any revision surgery should be covered but I think it's all to do with the ps opinion. I called them and told them about the excess skin but didn't mention the list of other probs as I thought I would talk to ps first. I am a little concerned though as I had already told my ps at my last check I was concerned about nipple height and excess skin and when I mentioned this to my pc she didn't know and said to mention it to my surgeon so maybe it is worth ringing her and getting it all on my notes.
I paid £5,800 for this so I should just stop worrying and speak up but I just don't like confrontation and sensed a bit of tension with my ps when I mentioned nipple height and skin almost like he took it personally which is why i'm worrying about it. The appointment I have booked is the earliest in my area so unfortunately it's a waiting game for me. I think I will definately call MyBreast tomorrow and air my worries to my pc and hope she's not funny with me- god i'm such a worrier I do my own head in

Re: So many things not right!
It's not worth calling the PC babe, they won't be able to add anything your surgeon should to your notes, you NEED to ensure that what you say is WRITTEN by your surgeon hun, if not, then exactly what has just happened should you later need revision will occur - as far as they are concerned as there's nothing in your notes right now... there's no problem and you're happy.
If the earliest you can see your surgeon is the appointment scheduled, don't worry about it hun, you be sure what you say goes in those notes then if you're still concerned about your boobs... it'll be fine to wait chick, don't worry, there's no ergency to what you're saying so don't panic.
Don't worry about any tension either from your surgeon, if he gets a little uppety 'cos you have a few critisisms, tough! You paid a heck of a lot of money for your boobs sweetie, if you bought a very expensive skirt from a shop and it began to fall apart after a couple of wears would you be so relaxed about not having a replacement?..I know I wouldn't, I'd be demanding the shop do something about it.
It's no different with surgery hun, if you're not satisfied with the results and there actually is a complication that needs fixing, then they should fix that for you at no cost to yourself whilst you're within your after-care and too bad on your surgeon if he's not happy that he didn't get things right first time around. xx

Re: So many things not right!
Thanks Cookie, I will wait and see him and tell him all about my concerns. You are right, if I were in a shop with faulty clothing I would complain. Shall I say to him can you make sure my concerns are in my notes please?
I know the poor bloke had a right tough time with me and he said I was his hardest to date - my surgery took 5 1/2 hours instead of 2 1/2. He thinks I have a colagen problem with my skin but surely that's not my problem and if it needs correcting that shouldn't come into. He has been very good so far apart from the one time I felt abit of tension so fingers crossed.
Thanks for your advice cookie it's much appreciated xx

Yeah, if you are still concerned when you see him that's all you need to say, if he asks why, which he shouldn't but if he does, just say it saves any confusion as the last time you called because none of your concerns were written in your notes last time she didn't have a clue what you were on about, so to save any possible further confusion you'd really rather your concerns were actually noted for reference later if needed. You're not at all being rude in asking babe, if you have concerns it's important that your surgeon actually writes them down, I can understand why they wouldn't want to, because in writing it down, it then there in black and white that they possibly messed up, so you might need to give a little push babe.

No hun, this isn't your problem at all, that's for your surgeon to deal with, not you. xxx

hey butterfly wis i could help more..// i just wanted to say that i had some stuff i wanted to ask about early on and i actually had a dream where i tried to bring up some concerns and the dr and everyone took it really personally and got really upset with me and wouldnt talk with me anymore! it was such a disturbing dream that when i went to talk with them i actually confessed the dream to them and told them i was worried they would take my concerns as criticism. //
that actually seemed to break the ice a little bit and it was easier to talk with them for me after that. anyway maybe it would help just let them know you really dont want it to sound like criticism and you are on the same team you know trying to accomplish the same stuff and are so hapy for what hes done for you and just have some concerns and you know he wants to help you get it right... // my dr was very understanding after i confessed that to him. @ really hope things even out and you can talk to them soon. @

Re: So many things not right!
Hi hun, you said you didn't feel comfortable raising your concerns... is it possible you have someone who can go with you. Like do you have a brashy mate that isn't afraid to stand up to anyone. Tell them what you want to say to your surgeon. Or write it down, give it to him and tell him to put it in your notes. Not sure if that helps but hope it does xx

Thanks Charms, Jen and Pippa.
I will try that Charms as like you say it will break the ice. He really is a very nice man so i'm sure my concerns will be listened to how he deals with them is another matter but fingers crossed. I will let you know how it goes.
Thanks again girls xx

I can't stress enough lovely, no matter how nice your surgeon is, it's not the listening that matters, it's 'noting' babe. That's so very important is you have genuine concerns that may need a possible re-op later that your surgeon has 'written' your concerns down for reference later should it be needed. xx
Re: So many things not right!
I think our hesitance and total belief in Dr's over here comes through long waiting lists etc through the NHS!! In the US they are much more aware of their rights!
As Cookie has said, make sure he writes down your concerns, and adds his examination notes to that too. If you say to him that you are going to take notes at the same time, that may prompt him to be a bit more thorough.
You are I reckon with a good company in MyBreast though and if your surgeon can't /won't help or you don't feel comfortable with the options he gives you you do have a right to the founder members of MyBreast to have your case heard.
You will get there, good luck darling xx

Re: So many things not right!
Thanks Kayla and again to you Cookie. I will 100% make sure it is noted. It's all i'm thinking about at the moment so I want to make sure this appointment counts to getting things sorted even if it's a plan of action ie if I need to wait until a set amount of time po before any/if any revision surgery needed takes place etc as it's the not knowing what or if anything will be done that's driving me nuts. I think if I knew that the probs are going to be fixed I wouldn't be stressing so much, it's the thought of the possible fight ahead that's getting to me. Hopefully my worries will all be nothing and he will agree with me and sort it xx
