Booby Blues...
Don't get me wrong, I love my new boobs, but I think I'm experiencing the post-BA blues that everyone talks about. I've been completely on my own for 5 days, with no company to speak of since my mum left (I've told all my friends at work that I'm on holiday because I wanted a peaceful recovery and didn't want anyone to know) so that might be something to do with it. In addition, I'm having difficulty sleeping; a combination of the heat and sleeping on my back which I've never really done before now. Although I can do most things on my own, I am tired out from doing simple tasks, such as walking down the street, doing the dishes, and feel like I need a breather after just a few minutes. I miss my mum, and the excitement of having my BA last week. Even being cooped up in a hotel in Birmingham with my mum watching DVDs seems a lot better than this. OK, rant over. Thaks for listening girls xx

Re: Booby Blues...
Aww sorry to hear your feeling down goldi, it can be a bit of an anti climax and everything just gets on top of you around this time post ba.
You'll always have us here to listen and chat to.
The sleeping thing is difficult and especially in this heat. Cold flannels of your head, fan on, and ice packs on your boobies will help cool you down.
It does tire you doing simple things we take for granted like washing up or even making a cuppa. Don't overdo it though Hun.
Maybe book yourself a pedicure, something for you that you can relax in a chair upright and be spoilt and have a chat with the Girl doing it!
X hope you feel better soon Hun x

Re: Booby Blues...
Thank you girls, I kind of feel guilty for resting so much, but I know I need to. In the last couple of days I've had shooting pains in my chest which isn't anything to be concerned about but I do need to take it easy. I have been reaching for things, which my nurse told me not to, and am achy as a result so rest is really what I need, but not seeing or hearing from another soul...can be pretty isolating. I so appreciate your kind words and cuddles.
Oh, Mrs Ball, I might indeed arrange to have a beauty treatment. I need my eyebrows done but the last time I went, the girl lent on my chest while she was doing it, so will have to book somewhere else, ouch! xxx

She lent on your chest???!
When ever I used to have eyebrows waxed or dyed I layed on a beauty table and the beautician stading above my head! (since had them tattooed!)
If you do have eyebrows done make sure your raised on a bed with few towels behind your head as don't want to lay completyl flat.
Just thought pedi as your boobs won't get in the way and summer flip flops! X

Re: Booby Blues...
Thank you girls, I knew you'd understand. I'm just very lonely, and have started to think if I died tonight, how long would it be before anyone realises? Since no one has been in touch. I'm not suicidal, just my mind is going into some dark places. Sad times...

Re: Booby Blues...
goldi don't even think things like that, your mum would notice, your work would notice, i would notice pretty quick!!!
the dreaded boobie blues, but try to see them as part of your recovery that will pass, like the shooting pains....
please don't reach for things overhead, early post op i got up on a chair to get things down from shelves or cupboards that i would normally reach from the ground.
oh a pedi sounds good, but only if you're up to it! being out of breath and everything you describe is totally normal and it will pass!!!
in the meantime, feel free to moan away here

Re: Booby Blues...
Thanks hun, just having a bit of a rubbish day feeling sorry for myself. I'm going to go for a little drive just now for some fresh air. I tend to go a bit down in the dumps if I don't have company for a little while. Will try to organise a mani-pedi for later this week. Thank you

Re: Booby Blues...
Oh sweetheart, I'm sorry you're feeling this way
Its such an anti-climax after surgery, with all that exciting build up toward your BA and after there's..... Nothing. You have your boobs, you're going through the rubbish period of you're healing, for you, you're now alone now your mums gone and its a time when when the blues can kick in for even the most positive of people.
Good news is - you know what this is and why its happening gorgeous and that it does go away.
Its not going to be long now before you start picking up where you left off again, getting yourself slowly back to your normal self - but now with BOOBS! And bloody gorgeous ones by the looks of your avi!
You know where we are if you want to talk through it lovely, we're only ever just one click away xx

Re: Booby Blues...
Its easy to think you are alone when you are sat there, at your wits end because you cant do bugger all, you get tired after walking up the stairs, making a coffee feels like you've made dinner for 8, the house needs hoovering but you know you'd be stupid to do it and dont even get me started on the sleeping right now... But one thing to maybe take comfort in is that at the other end of this forum someone else is feeling exactly the same and you are not going mad xxx

Re: Booby Blues...
Thank you girls for your kind words and for being there for me. I think how I am feeling is made a million times worse by the lack of sleep. I am exhausted and getting a few hours every night. Just when I think I'm so tired that I will drop off immediately, I can toss and turn for hours then wake up a few hours later and not get back to sleep. I'm so exhausted and nauseous and my days are just empty voids at the moment because I'm too tired to even apply for jobs (I hate my job and so had planned to spend this week applying for new ones). I just feel really, really low and have no idea how to help myself get out of this pit. I know it will pass as you rightly said Cookie, but I feel so crap just now. Thank you for allowing me to rant xxx

Re: Booby Blues...
oh goldi, really sorry that your feeling fed up. I think we all go through this. I went to my moms for a week and when I went back home I felt a bit isolated and alone and missed the laughs we had and the female company. it does pass, and I think when you can sleep better you will feel better. I also started to feel better when I could get back to exercise and my normal way of life. Your avi looks absoloutely fantastic, honestly incrediable, you must be over the moon. you will soon feel better lots of hugs to you xxxxxxxxxxxx

Re: Booby Blues...
The lack of sleep can be horrendous babe and can make you feel terrible... You're 10 days post-op now and don't look to have much swelling at all, so maybe try lowering yourself in bed now and trying to get a better sleep. You'll be fine. The raised position is only for the swelling and you're looking so good, so maybe getting into a more comfortable position is going to help lots lovely.
You rant anytime hun... Those on the other side have all been there and we know exactly what you're going through

Re: Booby Blues...
Thanks girls.
Happy1day, that's exactly how I feel. When my mum was here, we watched DVDs, had singalongs, just had a laugh and I forgot I'd just had surgery. Now I feel quite alone and miss her company and feeling looked after. I hear people talking about how wonderful the heat is, but I am really suffering with it, my house feels airless and muggy, especially at night. I'm so tired that I'm finding it difficult to do anything for myself.
Cookie, I have stopped sleeping raised, but sleeping on my back at all is a challenge, even with a v-pillow. I find it extremely uncomfortable on my back and also feel like I'm being strangled by the weight of my implants which feel a bit heavy and 'full' at the moment. xx

Re: Booby Blues...
They'll feel alien for a while yet babe, so you're just conscious of them being there.
Use your V-pillow to slightly lean to your side. You can cuddle the V-pillow to create a gap for your bottom boob to fall into, so there's no pressure at all on there, cuddling the V-pillow will also help to support you too so you don't roll at all.
Just try to get in a position you feel comfortable with hun. But be gentle and listen to your body. If it hurts, unfortunately its back to your back for a while babe.
Hoping you do get some comfort. Xxx

Thank you Cookie, I will definitely give this a shot. Really appreciate the time you've all taken to put me at ease while I'm feeling this way. Hopefully it'll pass shortly so I can start to really enjoy my new assets xxx

When you manage to get a decent amount of sleep you will feel better gorgeous. Sleep deprivation is horrendous and its little wonder you feel the way you do. Remember to use that V-Pillow to help with the transition. It really will help you babe. Xx

Maybe I e packs on your boo s also will cool you and relieve some discomfort. X

I have been trying to get a fan for days but Amazon is completely sold out, as is my local Argos and Tesco. I have ordered a small one from eBay but it probably won't be here until the weekend. This weather is just ridiculous xx
