I think it depends on how they're bonded, if they're metal it may not be good.

i don't know whether they'll make a difference in theatre or not but after you've had the surgery will you be in a state to take care of them properly? Theyre alot of maintenance and its time consuming washing them correctly and blow drying and styling them so it may be worth giving it a miss until you know how you'll feel and what you'll be capable of doing on a daily basis.xxx

As long as theres no metal involved they should be fine, but I do agree with Kelly.... They're bloody hard work. In saying that though, you can always get them washed and blown on the salon until you feel able to do them yourself if this was something you could manage. Xx

I think you will be ok with extensions as long as there is no metal involved! But as the others have said. They are extremely hard work to maintain xx good luck hun xx

I am really glad that someone asked this as I currently have extensions in and was worried I would need to have them removed before surgery at the end of July. My hubby is well trained in looking after them (I sometimes just enjoy having my hair washed and dried haha) so should be ok if no problem to surgery Smike

I think I will wait!! I cant really afford it anyway as I need to save every penny towards my op! My hair is so damaged at the moment I just know I need a bloody good cut but I am so scared to go and have it all chopped off into a short bob again! I need to grow it for my wedding which isnt for over a year and I go to Florida in September so I want to be able to tie it back for that so i reckon I am gonna have to hold onto it for now and then after my holiday take the plunge and cut it off.. then if I cant stand it I will get the extensions after my surgery!!

hi my hair was in a terrible terrible mess so i went for a few conditioning treatments at the haridressers every other week, not too expensive and every 3 weeks i went and had the tiniest amount cut off the end and i started letting my hair dry at night on its own and straighten it in the morning and seen a HUGE diff after a few month xx

It would probably be best Susan. Hair extensions take a lot of looking after too and you won't be able to lift your arms for a while... So you'll be better waiting lovely and its feel like a nice treat when you get them done after your BA too. Xx

I had my surgery with transform and at my pre op as they went through a list of things to do and not do
on the list was to have hair extensions removed. Check with your specific clinic as one thing I have learned from this site is that different surgeons and clinics specify different things. Xx
