Pre surgery consultation with nurse..

I have my pre op medical in 15 days!! Which means the big day is only getting closer. Just out of curiosity what happens at this appointment? :) thanks xx

Hi Emily :)
I haven't had my pre op yet because my op isn't until September but I think they ask you a few questions, take your height and weight and might do a blood test... All friendly stuff lol,
I think your find this post will be moved to the general section where your have more replays from girls who have had theirs already :)

At your pre-op Emily, your nurse will go through your medial history with you. She'll want your height and weight to ensure you have a healthy BMI and you'll have your pre-op pictures taken at this appointment too.

Dependant on your health history you may be required to have some blood tests, MRSA swobs, ECG... Any test really that feel might be necessary to ensure you're in good health.

Its not an appointment to be worried about at all babe... You'll be fine. Xx

I had bloods taken, height, weight, pre op pics, and a chat about my medical history. That was about it for my pre op x good luck with your BA hun x

No, it's pretty standard stuff lol. And they don't always take bloods. Oh and there's the MRSA swab, but that's nothing to worry about either. It just a long cotton bud that they rub around your throat. Your BA is getting close, you must be getting very excited? X

Sorry to ask on your thread Emily but do you know why they might need to take bloods? So not every girl has blood taken? Lol I'm more bothered about needles then the actual BA! X

Ah that's fine then I think I can deal with all of that haha. Phew! Yes 30 days till the big day!! So not long at all really and I am very excited indeed :) :) xx.. Don't be silly that's fine Jennifer. Will be useful to me too haha xx

Erm they just check your general health, and wether or not your clotting is good. Sometimes they need to do it if you have a medical condition or some past medical conditions also require a blood test. I wouldn't worry about it hun, it depends on your clinic. Some take bloods some don't xx

If you have a needle phobia I would suggest you contact your clinic and check wether or not they will take blood, then maybe ask for some numbing cream. But honestly it doesn't hurt x

Ok thank you Lisa (and Emily lol) I think I should be ok, just the whole needle thing makes me cringe lol :) I am thinking about the numbing cream on the BA day but I'm not too worried, ill suck it up lol :) xx

Lmao x honestly it's fine. On my BA day I didn't even realise they were putting it in. They chatted to me the whole time and really put me at ease x
