Help Please - Round or anatomical for slight droop Empty Help Please - Round or anatomical for slight droop

Post by LB1985 11th June 2013, 1:19 pm

Hello all!
I am really hoping that anyone with experience of these two surgeons can offer me some advice. I am very confused right now.

I am 5 ft 2 - just under 8 stone and currently 34B. I also minor droop of the breasts.

Nduka feels that to rectify this I should have 280cc round overs, this will give me some roundness in the top that I currently lack.

Banwell thinks that I should definitely have teardrops to keep with the shape I have as he thinks that a droop can not be amended with round implants - he also mentioned something called "double bubble". He said I can go under or over but as I'm quite athletic over may be best. He will be quite flexible with sizing depending on projection - from 280cc-325cc.

I have had 2 consultations now with both and like them both.

Please can anyone offer me advice???

Thanks!

I had anatomicals because I had droopy boobs due to breast feeding, I also had unders! If I were to have rounds I would have also needed a lift. Both rounds and anatomicals give a very natural shape once dropped. But rounds wouldn't have rectified my droop. As for under vs over, I had unders because I had no natural breast tissue left, but if your given the choice then it's usually best to go over. Being athletic doesn't rule out unders, unless your very into your upper body workouts, however there is a thing called muscle distortion that can happen in very athletic people with unders.

I suggest you see a 3rd surgeon and go with the majority hun!

I agree hun, I think a 3rd consultation would be a good idea. Then you can pick which surgeon and surgery plan you feel comfortable with.

Thanks, I am going to go for a third in London I think as I'm based in brighton. I had seen a third but discounted him as he said I should have a mastopexy/uplift too. Both the other surgeons felt this wasn't necessary as I have minimal droop. One surgeon said it's not really a droop, he said I just carry more weight at the bottom and my crease is high so it can appear like a droop. I think I will have a 4th consultation in the hope the surgeon agrees with one of the now 3 different opinions I've had. All have been excellent surgeons too with Spire and really well respected (did my research even before booking consultations). One is listed as one of the best in the TImes in 2010 when they did a special feature on top doctors (Banwell). Very confused, thanks for the advice!!

They do sound very good surgeons hun, both with good surgery plans. I don't envy you having to decide.

Hi LB, im no help to you really but just wanted to say good luck with your research. This part is always the hardest. Spire are a great company though and ive heard lots of good things about them :)
I meet four surgeons before deciding on mine to get different opinions so it really is worth it to ensure you feel confident your going for the right procedure :)
Good luck and keep us updated :) xx

Hi, no I've been to Spire clinics, one in Gatwick and the other in Brighton. I am going to have to look for another surgeon as the surgeon who recommended anatomical due to my questions has been dismissive today and said I am "over-reading" things. Understandably I'm disappointed. I liked him and another surgeon and am simply wanting to make the right decision. Do you mind me asking if you have a slight droop right now and why you were personally recommended anatomical? Thanks! xx

Hi there, I had always thought tear drop for me and my first consult said about the flipping which put me off, so when I was offered them again I immediately had my doubts be he assured me due to the textured implant your body will hold them in place as long as don't do much for 6 weeks!
I have no breast tissue really, am AA so he felt this would give me the most natural look and the implant he is using has the right size for me as I have a wide chest as well being tall.  So I am being offered them for a different reason to you.
I will be seeing my surgeon again in 2 weeks so will be bringing up all my questions re: the anatomical implant, as when you research it, it has mixed reviews, but I do really trust this surgeon to get it right so feel that is the best I can do.
He will do a low profile as well which will be a natural feeling implant too.
That's not nice your surgeon has been dismissive to you.  He should put you at ease really shouldn't he!!!!
Definitely see someone else if you not happy.

I would agree to get another consult I had 2 so thought a 3rd would help me make my decision but it just made me more confused!
In the end I had 5 but I knew as soon as I met with he was the one !
Good luck xx

Now need to decide on a 4th surgeon then! I have looked into Mybreast but they're in London and I'm really not sure if I can be bothered to travel back after the surgery when I'll most likely be in pain. I hate london at the best of times so might look closer to Brighton but still within an hours distance :) xx

Thanks Cookie, I used this before to find all 3 surgeons I've already met :) But I forgot about it and will reconsider some of those I discounted initially due to distance. For the best boobs and the right decision I should go a little further than Brighton. My hope is that meeting other surgeons will confirm which recommendation is the right one for me. Rounds vs Anatomical - it's just so tough!!! I want to get it right xx

I think you're actually being very sensible hun. This is a HUGE decision to make and you really want to get it right. So research and finding that surgeon who you have full confidence in is the key to a good result.

Happy hunting LB and do please keep us updated with your progress. Xx
