Re: Why no sports bra?
You'll find post-op instructions may vary from surgeon to surgeon, from person to person and this is all down to your post-op care being tailored to help you get the best from YOUR BA hun.
Your surgeon obviously doesn't feel your boobs would benefit from the support right now, it maybe because your boobs are very tight and your surgeon feels they'd benefit more without a bra... So don't worry hun and don't compare your post-op care to others. Your surgeon is doing what they deem right for YOU babe. Xx

Re: Why no sports bra?
I had no bra instructions, found it so comfy I had difficulty adjusting to wearing anything other than a support vest (m and s do some real nice ones) x

Re: Why no sports bra?
Hey Sez, just been told by my PS that all I've need to wear for the first two weeks is either a crop top or a boob tube! No support bra necessary. Was surprised too as I'm only having an uplift, no implant, and can't imagine them being anywhere pert enough just to wear a boob tube!! (never been able to wear one in my whole life!). He said the bra's can come later once the swelling has gone down but they will be so tight a bra won't be needed at all. so you're not alone! :-) Hope your boobie day has gone well! and you're resting lots! x

Re: Why no sports bra?
Sez I was told not to wear anything for a week. My PS said it would be more beneficial and allow my breasts to settle, the skin to stretch, muscles relax slightly quicker. I felt a bit worried too.
Littlewellies i felt like that too. Was really hard when I had to start wearing a bra, still is a bit now! Find my Macom the most comfortable! My skin / nipples felt super sensitive anything being on them!

Don't worry Sez! As Cookie always advises, listen to your surgeon!

Re: Why no sports bra?
Sorry to crash your thread. Cookie, i'm nearly 3 weeks post op now and my nipples are super sensitive, to the point where it's painful to have anything touching them! My Macom is ok, but anything else is so sore, physical touching them, even the water going on them in the shower. Everywhere else is fine. I should be pleased have sensation really. This is just healing, nerve isn't it? Just want some reassurance really. Hope it goes soon! My boyfriend keeps trying to have a grope and I have to bat his hands away!!!

Re: Why no sports bra?
Yes hun, its just the nerves healing. The over sensitivity can be horrendous! But its not permanent babe so don't worry. Popping a small cotton round make-up pad over them in bras really does help. The pad acts as a nice soft cushion for the nipple rather than rubbing against the abrasiveness off seams on bras or simply the material! Some ladies prefer to use breast feeding pads too so this is another option whilst going through this stage... But don't worry Mel, it really is going to get better
Re: Why no sports bra?
Thanks Cookie! You're a treasure! Will get some cotton pads, it's a plan! I think that will help. It's only early doors in my healing anyway, need to remind myself of that! X
