Sleeping on front
So I've woken up pretty much on my front the last 2 mornings is this bad?? Ill be 4weeks PO on Friday. I did ask my surgeon at my1 week check how I should be sleeping an he said however is comfortable... But also laughed and said I doubt you'll be sleeping on your front! Could this cause any damage? Thanks ladies x

Hiya hun. I was told to wait until after my 6 week check and only then if comfy but i don't know if we're all given different advice. could you prop yourself up or make a pillow fort around yourself to stop yourself turning over? X

Re: Sleeping on front
PS mine was an accident. I haven't been told anything at all about sleeping so I'm doing what feels comfortable. x

Re: Sleeping on front
Ktwin, most ladies ate advised to sleep with their head higher than their chest to encourage blood flow and reduce swelling. Last night I slept on my side a lot and in still worried I shouldn't

I'm sure you won't be doing damage, if you were it would be painful and you wouldn't be able to do it.
Re: Sleeping on front
Angie I'm trying, I start with falling asleep sat up but I always wake on my back and this morning woke up on my side and I felt ok. 1 week check tomorrow so all will be revealed when this bloody strapping comes off. I'm sure its the strapping which is stopping my healing from progressing? x

Re: Sleeping on front
I had straps for 12 days Ktwin. I think it helped with managing the swelling and holds everything in place. I'm usually a very active sleeper and would rarely sleep on my back but with the V pillow I didn't move an inch through the night. Best to ask your nurse about sleeping, mine said to avoid sleeping on the side until the 6 week check xx

8 weeks! Blimey! Funny how little things like that are so important when you can't do them isn't it. X
