Bag of nerves Empty Bag of nerves

Post by sianyoungx 28th April 2013, 7:33 am

Morning ladies, so I've just woke up and it's a day before my surgery and it seems to have suddenly hit me. I think it's probably because I've been so busy right up until today and now I don't have a great deal to do. I feel really anxious about the GA nope I've never been put to sleep before so I know it's just the fear of the unknown but Im worried its going to feel like I'll have no control over my body?

Everyone I've spoke to said is not like that and it just literally feels like you're very tired and then 2 secs later your asleep then back awake!? Ahh nerves have finally got the better of me I think lol x

I'm sure it's natural to feel a little anxious, I'm sure I will and I have seen many operations and been put under myself! The worst part of a GA for me is walking into theatre and climbing onto the bed, but it takes effect so quickly you will be asleep in no time at all.
Try to chill out today Hun, do something you enjoy or meet a friend for lunch.
Good luck for tomorrow. xx

When I had my GA they literally put the needle in and I was out. Woke up in recovery in what felt like 2 seconds later and it was all done. Then back to my room for tea and biscuits then a cheese sandwich, it was great. Such an easy day. However I know you're nervous and you wouldn't be normal if you weren't. Just keep thinking this time tomorrow it'll all be over.
