How long til you can raise your arms?
Can barely just raise my arms over my head and was wondering if anyone else was the same? 7 days post op and didn't think this would be a problem anyone else? x
Re: How long til you can raise your arms?
I had very limited movement for like 10 days. And couldn't lift arms fully above my head til like 2 and a half - 3 weeks. But I think I was a bad case lol x

I'm fine with other things like opening the car door i just can't get my arms over my head. Well, i can but it pulls on both my implants on the sides nearest to my arm pits x

I'm 7 days post op too, can lift my arms no problem but wouldn't advise it, every time I do anything I end up swelling again, guess it affects us all in different ways. I had overs too. x

Ah it's good to hear, was starting to think i was the odd one out. Was even wondering if it was something to do with my old breast crease constricting the implant x

Re: How long til you can raise your arms?
Seems like such an obvious thing now but i never thought about it before the op that something like raising your arm could be affected. Tink i can imagine beingsck hurting =[ hiccups isnt pleasant either x
Re: How long til you can raise your arms?
I didn't even try for 2 weeks and am only just doing it slowly to stretch or get a top on at 3 weeks! Unless you need to, just chill while you heal:)

I didn't even try before day 7 and then I did to wash my hair and dress in my usual tops. At my 12 week check up nurse told me not to let my elbow get higher than my shoulder, I was doing it plenty before then.... Oooops I'm trying to be good and still avoid lifting my arms too high unless I absolutely have to or erm.... I forget lol

Re: How long til you can raise your arms?
as i'm still pre BA i obviously can't add anything from own experience, but getting confused about different kinds of information now.. interesting that some of you have been told not to raise your arms..
i've been reading the book called 'the good boob bible' written by the ps miles berry et al, and the last thing i read in the post op chapter was that they recommend to keep moving your arms, and gently raising them above your head for a little bit every day, as keeping moving would heal quicker, and keeping still would heal slower... hmmm
just thought i'd share what i'd read x

Re: How long til you can raise your arms?
blueeyedsoul - does he clarify what placement is being referred to? I'd be shocked if not raising your arms above your head for a few weeks is detrimental to the healing process.
I don't want to raise my arms above my head and am going with what my body says.. and I can't wait to get back on my yoga mat where my arms are in places I can't imagine they will ever be again:)
