HMG Consultation
Has anyone been for a recent consultation at HMG?
Is it still the case that you only see a nurse and no sizes are discussed at your initial consultation with HMG and you then have to book back in with a surgeon?
I have one booked for Saturday and if that's the case I may cancel it.

Thanks, I went to the hospital group last Monday and met the surgeon and he did measurements ect but I read on this forum that at Harley you only see a nurse and have to pay to see the surgeon. I'll call them tomorrow and find out. Have you booked your surgery yet? X

Re: HMG Consultation
Run a mile from HMG!!! And yes you do only see the nurse/sales person at your first consult. If you want to see a surgeon you have to pay £100 for a consult or £500 for surgeon consult and to book your op. They have treated PIP's ladies dreadfully too (including me) as I'm sure you've been aware. Their aftercare is shocking, I'll shhh now or I'll be ranting for a while x

Wow that's awful, ill cancel it then tomorrow and just stick with THG as I was quite happy with them anyway. I can't believe you have to pay to see a surgeon :-0 x
Thanks for the advice x

Re: HMG Consultation
I had to pay to see my surgeon and there are a few places that you have to pay to see a surgeon.. the real issue is that they try and give you the sales pitch first and reel you in and then start hitting you with the fees. I went with Spire and they dont use patient co-ordinators so although I had to pay to see the surgeon all my contact with directly with the surgeon and once I had paid to see the surgeon once I could go back time and time again for free. Also I got to spend a good 45 minutes in the consultation so I did get what I paid for. I get the impression with HMG you pay and get a 5 minute consult with the surgeon and the rest of the time you are dealt with by a patient co-ordinator who has no medical training and is a sales person paid to 'sell' you a product. They have a terrible reputation from the PIP scandal and I would steer clear although dont write off all surgeons just because they charge for a consult... just make sure its worth paying for!

Re: HMG Consultation
I would advise against HMG just because of what i've seen them put some girls on here through.
other free consultations are through transform or MYA.
I always reckon its always worth a consultation with a BAAPS/BAPRAS surgeon too. if you Click Here you can find the benefits of going with a baaps/bapras surgeon. Most charge around £100 - £200 for a consultation but the company MyBreast only use baaps/bapras surgeons and charge £25 for consultation xx

Re: HMG Consultation
I had my surgery with HMG, I tried not to as they have treated the ladies with PIP implants dreadfully! But the surgeon I met there was the one for me. I had about a 45 min consult with him, I then went back with more questions. And their aftercare so far has been fantastic. I really feel for the ladies with PIP implants, an I think HMG should have taken responsibility!! But I didn't choose the HMG I chose the surgeon!! If I could have had the surgeon through somewhere else I would have done. ( I have since my surgery found out he does work somewhere else, gutted!).
