Re: June Buddies
oooh so close now!! i'm getting soooo terrified!!!
but on the plus side i finally told my dad in an email before i went to see my parents this weekend, and surprisingly he was really great about it!! he believed me about not making the decision lightly, just asked a few questions but said he accepted my decision and even offered to help look after me!
i was really surprised!
my mum was still more against it and said a few things, but in the end just said she was scared for me and i was really brave.
i explained to her i had never regretted a decision i'd made in my life.
now i'm just starting to get really scared, massive pre op jitters!!!!

Re: June Buddies
funny. I'm thinking of changing my surgeon and company last minute due to a better care package afterward. I'm in two minds because it's so close now but at the same time if I wait a few weeks longer ill get more of a security blanket after.
I'll no longer be a June buddy!:( xx

Re: June Buddies
Aww noway :( to be honest the care package with my clinic isnt great but the surgeon is fab hes very well known/baaps/nhs and plenty of happy customers so im buying into the surgeon as opposed to aftercare. If ur unsure about ur clinic id hold off though xxx

Re: June Buddies
Aw vix what clinic did you book with? I'm going with spire and aftercare isn't as long as the other clinics but my decision was more based on my surgeon.
If your unsure its deff best to have a think through everything, I know its so close but its not worth going ahead with the clinic your booked with now if your not going to be 110% happy afterwards with the after care that's provided. That's good that your seeing your surgeon on Monday. X

Thanks hangle, I'm going with Nuffield. to be fair I'm happy with my surgeon just wanted a little extra security. what do you get with yourself xx

Re: June Buddies
Ah Vix, hope you're doing ok? Is the aftercare significantly different? What is the other surgeon like? I'm the same as G and hangle, I've made my decision based on how well regarded my surgeon is, that was defo the over-riding factor, well above the aftercare. Like hangle said though, you need to 110% comfortable with what your signing up for, there's no rush hun, if you're unsure maybe take some time to do more research? Xx

Re: June Buddies
vix i agree with the others, just make sure you're completely happy before you commit to anything.
even if it may mean waiting a few weeks longer..
for me both surgeon and aftercare were equally important, i wouldn't have felt comfortable having one without the other.
good luck with your decision x

Thank you ladies, I really value your support and you're right in that as much as my mind is telling me I should go ahead in June, I know i should only do that if I'm100%
sure. I'm really hoping for a good outcome when I see him on Monday.
Hopefully I'll still be part of June buddies xx

Re: June Buddies
Oh no vix i was a bit scared booking and last minute kept changing my mind, in fact 3 or 4 times, BUT you can pay to extend your aftercare, i asked for an extra 2 years it was 250 but she said tbh withing the first year if somethings going to happen it will most likely happen... and they are also going to make it law that any baaps surgeons will have to redo a capsular contracture etc and more things that usually we would have to pay for, so i hope that put your mind at ease a little xxx
