Re: confusion with sports bra sizing...
Pre op I was a small 34d, nurse recommended me wearing next size up so bought a 36... I had to go out yesterday and buy 38 due to swelling as was too tight. I would recommend going bigger waist wise to be sure Hun xxx

Have you had pre op yet? My nurse advised me to buy a E cup and F. I had 460cc implants over and wearing the F cup now. Just thinking the DD might be too small for you xx

Re: confusion with sports bra sizing...
I can't imagine you'd be a 36 back lovely at how slim you look in your avatar babe! That's quite a large back size for someone seemingly so small.
If youve never actually been fitted before I'd suggest you a go and that done first sweetheart, so you can at least find out what your back size is.
Is you've been estimated to be a DD, I'd then buy your back size youve been fitted to and the next size up in back size to enable you to accommodate any swelling around the ribs you might have. I'd also buy some bra extenders too, just incase you swell further which is possible and you then you don't have to go buying lots of bras with the extenders as they'll see you through.
Do get that fitting though hun. I really can't imagine you being a 36 back at all. X

Re: confusion with sports bra sizing...
Can anyone help tell me how tight the bra should be? I'm naturally a 34b but just had them done to what should be a 34d and even with a 36d i feel that its too tight with the swelling, don't wana feel like im rubbing the scars but also dont wana feel like the bra isn't giving enough support?! xx

The 'calculators are rubbish hun and have been 'proven' to have had women in the wrong sized bras for years. Your best bet to ensure you're getting the correct support post-op is to get fitted pre-op babe because all of your support comes from the bra band. Many believe it to be the straps, but its the actual band that lends your boobs all their support, so best get it right hun and it doesn't take 5 minutes to get done. Xx

You should be able to fit just two fingers under the breast band hun. It should feel quite tight, but not so tight that it is hurting you at all. If you're concerned about rubbing on your scars you can use a panty liner or a sanitary towel (sticky side against the bra) to just help cushion the scar from the bra band if you'd feel it would give you more comfort babe. If you feel it is too tight, to save yourself having to buy more bras, you can just spend about 3 or 4 pound on some bra extenders which will help extend the bra for you and save you a lot of unnecessary money buying more bras. Xx
