Sports bra confusion :(
Hey all u luvly ladyz
I wonder if u can help me out here....I had my BA 6 days ago and since then I have been wearing supportive vest tops. I went into town this morn to try and get a sports bra but m & s wouldnt help fit me as I still have dressings on. My little man was playing up and I wasnt feeling quite right as it was the first time Ive been out so decided to leave it today. I dont know what size to get??? My surgeon said to wear a loose fitting one. I wore a 34A before my op but have never been fitted for a bra as was to concious of my small boobies! Please help!
xx

Re: Sports bra confusion :(
youre going to have to take different sizes into the changing rooms and see how they feel.
I would personally try taking a 34D, 34DD, 34E, 34F, and those sizes in 36 bands as well and see which one you think feels the most supportive

Re: Sports bra confusion :(
I really like the debenhams "gorgeous" sports bras best as I found they gave a nice smooth shape under clothes and were comfy and supportive (some sports bras make you look a bit pointy)
A lot of people do like the marks and spencers ones too

I agree with Abbies advice
This confused me though miso -

I noted you've been wearing a support vest rather than a support bra on instruction from your surgeon - are you sure your surgeon now wants you in a 'support bra'? Its just that a support bra does just what it says on the tin and supports your breasts, if it's 'loose' it's not going to offer you any support at all, so is it worth you paying out money for something you might not necessarily need?, maybe your surgeon just wants you in non wired bras for now?
Or maybe a 'low impact' sportsbra? which you can buy at Asda for just £4 each.
A lot of surgeons offer different advice, some advise a support vest, some a high impact sportsbra for 4/6/12 weeks, some no bra at all... but it's always best to follow your own surgeons advice hun and if you're unsure about anything it's best to just ask to confirm. xxxx

Hey cookie
Yeah Im really confused about what to get and like u mentioned dont want to waste money on the wrong kind of bra. Im seeing the nurse on friday so will carry on wearing my supportive vests til then and will ask what they advise I buy. Asda is only 5 mins down the road from the clinic so maybe I can pop in there after. Ive seen some girls on here say there sports bras are quite comfy. Maybe by loose fitting he means just not too tight? Not sure, will have to find out. Thanks for your response anyway :)

Possibly...always best to just check though hun. Hope your consultation goes well on friday, I'm sure your nurse will put your mind at ease. xx
Re: Sports bra confusion :(
Thanks for the tip Abbie, Ive been wondering how to get a nice sports bra without the pointy look and have just checked debenhams web. After my op im going to get them once I know my size, they look great!

I have to agree about the debenhams ones, I love them and they're low enough on the band that they don't rub on scars either :)
