georgie88 wrote:cakey_baby, i had my 10 day post op check on monday and my surgeon gave me a sample of the kelo-cote silicone gel. I bought a 15g tube from the clinic where i had my op for £29, my ps said this is enough to last for 90 days (twice daily applications) by which time the scars should have improved sufficiently not to have to use it anymore. Think it's £90 for the 60g tube but you only have to apply a really thin layer otherwise it won't dry properly so you should only have to buy one 15g small tube. At £29, i thought this was worthwhile based upon the reccomendation of my ps and the fact i paid nearly £4000 for the surgery in the first place!

Can't comment on the gel itself as i've only been using it for a few days, em_stevo seems to think it works though.

Thanks Hun, think im going to get myself some ive only seen the 6g tube on the internet and thats £18 then the next one up is the 60g tube but its not worth buying if you only need a tiny bit, il have another search today.

Hi, im not using the lotions and potions on my scars yet. only on my boobs. i will start using aloe vera on my scars at 6 weeks. i have an aloe vera plant which i will be taking cuttings from and applying the good stuff on my scars, its the best natural thing going, NO CHEMICALS! :-)

its not the best example, but when my dad had carpel-tunnel and had an op on his hand he has 2 massive scars thicker then boobie scars and he used cocoa butter and they disappeared COMPLETELY.

so i'm deffo gunna be using that stuff as bio oil is nice but didn't get rid of my stretchmarks(as i was gaining NEW ones lol so didn't prevent them either) but thats just personal preference
