Re: May Buddies
Hi im feeling great today but tired now just got in to bed to relax!
I felt like that on day 2.
My right boob is more swollen than my left one tho think its cos I'm right handed and I'm doing more on that side?!
I used a baby wipe under my arms just avoided scars! I'm dreadin driving!
Why do u have to go to the clinic just for a check up? X

Re: May Buddies
So glad you are feeling great! What did you get up to? I'm desperately trying to keep my posture but I keep hunching. Right has started to bruise so I have a Thomas the tank cold pack thing on it haha. I think I have over done it with the right arm aswell.
I'm terrified to start driving! I don't know why I have to the clinic, I thought it was to check stitches? It's supposed to be my weekly check up up but it will only be day 3!!! I'm really not feeling up to it. I will need to walk and get taxis and trains and the thought of it is worrying me!
Once OH has made my dinner (yes he is still cooking it lol) I'm going to attempt a shower? I'm soo scared though! Xx

Re: May Buddies
Hey, girls. I don't feel so stiff today but I'm feeling quite achy and really tired. I too have just got back into bed! I had a friend over for a visit so I spent most of the day down stairs, did a bit of pottering around the house and enjoyed a bit of sun in the garden.
My left is still more swollen but suppose that's to be expected.
Ruth have a shallow bath sweetness, you'll feel much better for it. It feels really odd taking of the bath :/ Xx

Ruth, Ray and Sez, how are you managing during the day?? Are you in constant pain and looking ill or are you fine but then get tired and need to lie down? I'm just wondering how easy it will be to hide my op from my kids. They are pretty good at sensing when something is wrong with me x

Re: May Buddies
To be honest I did looked unwell the 1st couple of days, but then I always do even if I'm sleep deprived! I would of struggled to hide it from my boys. To begin with my posture was hunched and I was sore to move. But I wasn't as bad as I thought I would of been!
How are feeling? xx

Re: May Buddies
I have a 3 hour journey in the morn alone so I think it thats when the butterflies will kick in.
I just feel as though I'm deceiving everyone. My mum is watching youngest son tomorrow night as my OH is working and ive told her its because I'm meeting a work friend. Ive only told my OH and a close friend about my ba as I couldnt deal with everyone knowing and giving an opinion.
Bring on the boobies xx

Re: May Buddies
I'm sure you'll be fine, it's not that bad pain wise so you may just need to use the old bad back line? I know what you mean though about deceiving people. I have told a few select people, but I feel like I'm hiding a terrible secret! At the school today I was told some mums were asking where I was as I hadn't done the school runs all week! Nosy Parkers!!
Good luck, hun. Try to rest and enjoy your day. xx

How did u get on Greymare??
RayRay, Ruthaay and Sezbsby just been catching up on ur recoveries, I'm glad your all doing ok, my main worry is the journey home - 4hrs - on my own :-( - and my 2yr old, can't bear to think of a week or more with no cuddles :-(((
When are u allowed to drive? Did a lot if my housework prep tonight as an busy fri and sat, then sun night is the day before my op so will be grooming lol. Is there anything u didn't do u wish u had before op in the house wise?? I gotta remember to move my coffee and tea out the cupboard else I will die!!! Starting to panic as I think I won't be able to open fridge as its a really heavy door lol - imagining the OH coming home from work and finding me wasted Away from starvation lol xxx

Re: May Buddies
I'm so excited hearing all your stories I think I am the last of the may girls to have my op I hope mine goes as well as everybody else's. I had a bit of a mare last night as I haven't paid the balance for my op! Been so busy on here and getting mentally prepared I forgot first thing I must do today! And I've got a cold coming picked it up from my youngest son I can't believe it, haven't had a cold all year ... Hoping it will clear by next sat. I've decided to be honest with my youngest son about the op and he just shrugged his shoulders and sat can I go on the x box now! Kids xx

Lol that's typical of boys!
Alipops, be careful hun travelling home. Remember you won't be able to carry anything! Is there not anyone who could travel with u?
I had prepared housework wise too, I would say of you buy any drinks/milk in large containers to maybe get smaller versions in! I struggled pouring from the 6 pint milk for the kids! Also have some spare pillows ready for your return. xx

Re: May Buddies
The first 48 hrs I loved like death all hunched over just drugged up I think!
Yesterday was day 3 felt great looked after kids a bit pottered in house made my dinner. Today is day 4 and iv got both kids dressed washed up and made some toast! Feel back to normal just hard not been able to use ur arms fully!
Dkdme5 I couldn't not tell my mum just cos she'd know from having kids more than I anticipated it really knocks u back the first few days. The journey home was my worst bit even tho it was only an hour at 10 at night I would of rather been in bed! Are u staying in then driving home the next day or op then home?
Alipop I did all the housework before hand so glad I did! I didn't pluck my eyebrows and its killing me know! Had my hair done bath etc!
1 tip which I didn't think of is food buy in made up meals and leave them in reach I was on my own day one and couldn't open fridge or reach in cupboards!
Its worth it tho cos I have boobies!!!

Re: May Buddies
Dkdme good luck for today :-) :-). It's not painful just uncomfortable, I got my first proper nights sleep last night Wooo!!!! Plus Ben will let you shower next day, although I haven't yet just because I'm scared lol. Such a big wimp! I took RayRay advice and had a shallow bath lastnight which was nice :)
Honesty just go in comparing it to childbirth and you'll be like wow this is a breeze!! :-)
The only thing I regret not doing before the op was my washing machine going on fire the day of my op which was un preventable haha. It's causing a lot of problems because we have to keep shipping washing away to family and I can't drive yet and OH doesn't have a license.
I have told my 3 year old I have a sore back and she's like running around helping me as much as she can bless her. We have been having 'gentle cuddles' as she understands mummy can't move her arms much.
Xx

Re: May Buddies
I agree with Sezbaby. I had a pamper day the day before op. On the morning of op I curled all of my hair which was much easier to keep for me :-) get some dry shampoo. Something I wish I had bought was deodorant wipes, you can pick them up in boots!! Xx

Glad it went well Greymere, the bum shuffle does get easier, lol. I've started using my arms again now without too much discomfort.
Ive got to say that I am disliking muchly sitting on my backside and not doing my usual chores, I fear I may put on a stone in weight over this next 6 weeks, lol.
Another tip is to keep paper and pen handy and keep note of when you take your drugs, that way you can plan out pain relief to be constant throughout the day as you need it. x
