surgeons have different advice..
hi ladies.
hope all of you lovelies are good.
update on me. i am day day 4 or 5 however you want to look at it.
came home from hospital on tuesday, been off any pain med since then.
new additions are definitely softening day by day.
made the kids their dinner last night, washed up etc.. nothing too much
no hoovering or reaching up high until i have seen the surgeon in 2 weeks.
i am sleeping slightly lower down now, as i dont have too much swelling.
its funny how surgeons having different instructions on the same procedure dont they..
i was told to have showers straight away and spray aloe vera on the incisions. ive got glue outside of the incision and dissolvable stitches inside, so thankfully havent had the horrible itchy incisions.
what i do feel..
heavy boobs, get tired a lot quicker, but like hubby said "woman u have been through a major op"...lol
cant wait to feel normal again...xxx

Re: surgeons have different advice..
The glue acts as a protective layering on the stitches, so those having that will be able to shower. You're the first I've read though being able to put anything on the incisions and I'm a bit confuddled as to how it would get to the would with the glue acting as a waterproof layering??? I think far too much into things though lol.
Yes, it is funny how we all get different instructions, but then we're all different people and our healing may differ quite a lot hence the difference given in both post-op care and advice.
What's right for one woman isn't necessarily right for all which is why is so important to ignore everyone else's post-op care and just focus on your own, taking it a day at time.
You're having an amazing recovery sbs, but do listen to your sensible hubby lol - you HAVE just had a major op, so do be careful not to overdo it babe. Its far easier to put yourself back when you have little or no pain, so do make sure you rest when you're tired and although you feel good milk this week!!!! Haha it may be the last mine in a long time you get to relax and have a bit of pampering, cos soon it'll be back to the grindstone hun lol. Xx

Re: surgeons have different advice..
post op advice does tend to vary a lot doesn't it. it's the same with post op support for your boobs - some girls have to wear sports bras from day one, some wear chest straps, some wear both together and some wear nothing at all. as long as you follow the advice you're givenfrom your specific surgeon, that's what matters. Sounds like you're doing well though but yeh listn to your other half and take it easy!
Congrats and welcome to the world of boobies! xx
