Re: Exercising arms!
I asked the sunbathing question at my consultation and was told as long as the scars were covered it would be ok but also agree we should each listen to our own surgeon and our own bodies xx

Re: Exercising arms!
Lol.... We will have to get industrial amounts of st tropez to you if not char! Lol
I'm confident you will be fine.... :)
I have found that bio oil has helped stop my skin being tight, it is all soft and supple now. I make sure I put after sun on after sun beds too to keep it well moisturized xxx

Re: Exercising arms!
Tink I can't wait for my first totally topless experience.... I doubt it will be this time as I do want to take care if scars so even if I leave the steristrips off I will be using sun block and keep bikini over them, but after the first year these babies are being shown off to the max! Lol x

Re: Exercising arms!
Bio oil is amazing!! Since buying for my boobs I have started using on my face too.... It's not greasy like I thought and has given me a radiant boost. It works to even out skin tones as well and I have used it on a scar on my leg.... I'm pretty much covered head to toe in the stuff! Lol
My booby skin has never felt so amazing!
Having to halt on the sunbeds for a week or so though whilst my tattoo heals :(
You may have to share the st tropez with me for a bit char! ;) xx

Kirstyem13 wrote:Ok so I'm sure that there aren't many arm exercises I can do at the min I'm only 17 po, but I'm going on holiday in 3 weeks and my arms are turning to jelly with no going to the gym!! Can anyone think of any exercises I could do? If there is no way then fair enough I don't want to damage me new boobies or spoil my recovery, just wondering?! Xx
If you've been advised no excercise for a 6 week period Kirsty then you really shouldn't put any pressure on your upper body for that specified period of time to enable your body to have the best chance of repair and to give you the best results possible from your BA.
You're still early days right now hun and your arms do feel very weak at first. I found it hard flushing the loo at first! Haha. But your body will get stronger everyday and you'll be almost 6 weeks post-op by the time you go on holiday which is generally when most of get the all clear to treat our boobs as our own.
What I would suggest is that because you won't have reached that 6 week marker before going on holiday is that you ask your surgeon about swimming. Generally surgeons won't allow you in public swimming areas due to the bacteria in the water and the risk of infection so do check on that hun. Chances are you'll be ok as you'll almost be at the 6 week marker anyway, but its always better to be safe than sorry isn't it lovely. Xx
Re: Exercising arms!
Again 6weeks mark for excersise hun, and even then when I returned to the gym I couldn't run or bounce and build my fitness gradually back up.
3 months post op I'm still unable to do arm excersise , mainly due to the fact any arm excersises will involve using your chest muscles. Im still holding off weights as even carrying my daughter can make my boobs ache at the end of the day so weights at the moment are a no no.
Carrying a little extra weight or being a bit un toned is a small price to pay to having good quick recovery and not to damage internally or external scars.
Don't worry about your arms Hun, I'm sure no one will notice esp as theyll be noticing your new first!!! X

Re: Exercising arms!
Thankyou for the advice ladies :-) I have jet been for a gentle walk on the treadmill, felt fine and feel a million times bette for it, but yeh I'm gonna hold off doing any upper body for the full 6 weeks. Haha yeh mrsball that's what I'm thinking hopefully everyone will be looking at the new boobies rathe than my flabby arms!! Haha he said I'm fine to go swimming but to just make sure scars are really dry, but to be honest I probs will just take a dip and not get them in the pool xx

Lol I was the same after my BA. I used to swim a mile a day so swimming was a big part of my life, but my boobs mattered more to me and I was terrified after paying all that money and waiting all that time for them as well as going through all that recovery that anything would happen to them. So I just took everything slowly after getting the all clear and I think it was 3 months post-op when I actually felt comfortable to use public pools, because of the risk of infection. Lol I know I was over cautious, but like I said, after all that I'd much rather air on the side of caution. Xx
