Hi all. 4 days to my BA and I was wondering ... On the day of your op most ppl seem to say that they are feeling good, and it only seems to be on day 2 when the extra drugs leave the system that the pain kicks in... So question is; could you move your arms sufficiently on day one?
Also when you say you cannot use your arms properly would you say it was due to pain or that the operation mades them immobile, or that they are one and the same?

Can't move arms Empty Re: Can't move arms

Post by Mssaprl9 26th July 2012, 2:32 pm

Hey! I had my BA two days ago, I felt pretty good when I left the surgery center, mild discomfort and I was pretty alert. Not all groggy from anesthesia and felt I could move my arms pretty well but didn't because I didn't want to hurt anything. Later that evening the pain started kicking in more, I could not use my arms for anything like getting out of bed. Even with the pain killers I still had pain. It was hard getting out of bed even with help. Then when I stood up if felt like a ton of bricks were hanging from my chest. But then again this is just MY experience. My PS said its probably because I'm young, never had children and i have very little breast tissue. I could not move my arms due to the pain and i had trouble reaching for things that were right next to me. Today i have been walking around so I know it's getting better!
I wish you the best and it will all be worth it in the end!! Stars

I could move my arms at all times, I couldn't reach above my head due to the stitches.

Thanks ladies, it seems it's a pain thing then. Thanks for your help x x x

RedDolly - I've spent so long being excited that now I've paid my balance and I'm just sitting waiting it doesn't seem real anymore. I need to wake myself up or it'll be a bit of a shock when I wake up Monday afternoon with a pair of boobies!

Anyone else experienced this limbo and any tips on how to bring it back to reality again so I can enjoy the wait

At least it's not just me, if you didn't die with shock when you realised you actually had boobs then I'm sure I'll be fine too :D
