Just over 1 week PO, Do's & Don'ts
So girls i'm just over a week post op & must say i'm feeling fine- minimal swelling, no bruising, hardly any pain at all (apart from stingy incisions) i'm only taking paracetamols and this is only once, twice a day at most.
Just wanted to ask what things i'm allowed to do as in things like picking my 7 month old up, ironing, carrying things as i know i feel ok to do these things but i'm terrified of hurting my new boobies and have been reading posts saying they can't even tie their hair up and i have been doing since day 2 coz it didn't hurt to!!! I'm now freaking out thinking i might have done something to them as i've just been carrying on like normal coz i feel fine :/

I would be careful with lifting as you are still very early and although you may feel fine, if you do too much you will feel it after. I would listen to your body, see what feels ok and get back into your normal routine slowly. No hoovering or lifting of heavy shopping bags. You can do normal tidying just make sure you do rest in between, see how you feel and then carry on if ok. You can certainly tie your hair back, no probs there.

Hey :)
I'm so glad to hear your having a good recovery..,,.
This is my opinion only and obviously based ok my experience.... But I too had a brilliant recovery.... After the first couple of days I felt amazing.... Since then I have just listened to my body.... Obviously I have been careful and for the first couple of weeks my other half stopped me doing too much but ultimately I have done what felt right.,,, if I tried to do something and ugly a twinge I took it as my body telling me to stop.
We are all different, for the first six weeks or so I think it is important to consider everything before you do it but as long as you feel ok you probably are ok :)
I'm 3 weeks po now and I managed to muck my horse out today.,,, naughty? Probably but I felt fine and took it easy.....
Hope this helps xx

No ironing or hoovering etc till 6 weeks Hun, even though you may feel fine you're still healing internally.
Yes listen to your body and take things at your own pace but heavy lifting and anything that puts strain on your upper body eg hoovering LEAVE it! You'll only end up setting your recovery back and as I say even though you feel ok, once you start doing things you shouldn't your body will quickly tell you and set you back.
As for carrying your baby, my daughter was 8 months at my 2nd ba and I picked her up after a week, again not carrying her long distances but it's all about the technique , keep your elbows Close to your body and the baby close to close you use your forearm and hands to take the weight , and your abs and legs bend your Knees etc don't lean over , you'll find a way that feel comfatable for you x

At the time mine were 4months and 17months and I could lift them on day 9 for short times just don't overdo it and listen to your body. Xx

Re: Just over 1 week PO, Do's & Don'ts
Thanks lovelys :) Will try and take it easy and remember my body is trying to heal internally no matter how good i feel on the outside :))
Thanks
chicky :) I haven't done any hoovering or ironing as bf has been doing
it (getting sick of my creased clothes lol) I've been picking my little
one up for about 3 days but like your said always bending my knees and
trying to use my stomach and arms not my chest muscles :)

Ouch!!! Lucky I just did it going up the stairs but the fast arm movement wasn't pleasant. I've showered washed and dried my hair smoothly then I go and go that! Duhh xx

I have 4 steps and to get the pram out the door i need to push it hard over a wee bit at the door, but my daughter was a star and pushed the pram out then helped me get Ellie to climb in
