Re: ONE WEEK TO GO!
Love your avatar bigwood!
I was instructed to remove any false nails and nail varnish from fingers and toes babe.
The general advice given hunni is no excercise until you're 6 weeks post-op.
Not long to go now! This week will fly by!

Hi Bigwood
I was allow to keep my nails on which was a real bonus as I really didn't want to be bothered to get them soaked off ..... surgeon said as long as toes were uncovered and had no polish on it would be fine, think it must just depend on your surgeons personal preference xx

Hey chick, as starfish says you may be able to keep your fingernails on aslong as toes are free.. i would give your PS nurse a ring if i were you and check.. tho it probs wouldnt hurt to have your fingernails off for a little while.. do your nails the world of good to 'breathe' for a bit lol! :) hope this helps and lots of luck!! xx

how exciting! little smiles to yourself every day now I bet, weird dreams too! I coudn't wait and it didn't disappoint!
I don't know on the nails as I don't have falsies/polish but where the exercise bit is concerned, like cookie said none for 6 weeks........ don't risk damaging the newbies.... and dont' worry about putting on a few pounds after op, I felt like a beached whale but soon as I could get mobile again and start doing stuff the eating went out the window,,, its v important you take it v easy immed after.... good luck hun, excited for you xxxxxxxxx

Re: ONE WEEK TO GO!
My company/surgeon said I had to take fake nails off, no nail varnish, no make up. As for exercise I wasn't allowed for 6 weeks. I wouldn't have wanted to do it either just as I didn't feel comfortable (no pain) just felt like I wanted to protect my new boobs.
Re: ONE WEEK TO GO!
I was also told no exercise for 6 weeks, it's really important to be fully recovered first. I'm over 7 weeks PO now but still don't feel ready to go back to the gym, even thou I have missed it lots!
Will probably go back in the next few weeks, maybe start by walking uphill on the treadmill, can't imagine running yet with these bad boys!

Re: ONE WEEK TO GO!
On the exercise front...
After ten days I started going for walks after dinner. I just walk slowly, take my time and do about five miles. It takes me nearly two hours as I make sure my heart rate barely rises, but I am still burning 500 calories every time I walk!! As I had lost a stone before my BA I didn't want to put it back on and this is the only way to do it without over exerting yourself!!!
